Why can't the game remember what packs you have?

I have a question about EA's Choice to give us free content with the Sims Sessions. Why doesn't the game remember that I have City Living and know not to download the same content? But give me the content that I don't have! I would like everyone who post, to be kind to others opinions. But what do you think about all this redownloaded content taking up space in your debug. Which could have been turned into something else or a fresh updated recolor for existing content.

i think i understand what you mean (the sims sessions vendors and the CL vendors both being in debug) but since they sell different things, they have to be separate "items" in the catalogue.

the game doesn't download anything extra btw; so it's not "redownloaded" as they are different items (altho might look similar)
