Me too. Being old, sophisticated and mature, I have sophisticated and mature tastes -- like dedicating thousands of hours to playing video games with cartoon people. Sending these cartoon people to a cartoon music festival to watch cartoon performers is clearly beneath me.

I think this event could be fun. The only downside is that it is limited in real time. If someone can't play for whatever reason (sickness, travelling, work... ) then they are out of luck and won't get a another chance.
I started playing sims 4 just after the plantsims event and I never had the opportunity to play that challenge. Same goes for the positivity challenge. I would like to play that again with a sim who is born after the original event. But the game won't let me. I wish these kind of things would return annually.

I wonder, if we buy festival T-shirts will they remain available for that sim in CAS afterwards?

I know. But from what I've heard so far it is a different from the challenge where you had to talk to sims. So I am not playing the challenge, just buying seed packets. But at least there is an alternative way in game to get the beans and we can buy the tree stump.

Sorry you feel that way. I never feel I am too old.

Yes as younger, I did indeed visited several music/rock/metal/pop festivals and enjoyed them very much :)
currently, I would most likely not to visit those again, but I do not consider myself as "too old for this" . :)

But all with our own style :)

I have some sims who would love to be at music fest :)

My point was that I have no clue who any of the mentioned artists are and I feel like this event is pretty much aimed at the younger generation of sims players like most things seem to be with the game these days. Promoting the event by saying that the artists are everybody's favourite is really stretching things, from what I've seen a good majority of sims players don't actually seem to know who they are.

I have no issue with music festivals in general, I quite enjoy them myself.

Yeah, saying that an artist are everybody's favorite is a bit of a stretch. There are so many music genres and bands out there. But who knows? maybe we will end up liking them, even if they feel targeted towards a younger crowd.

Am I the only one excited for this? Lol🥳🥳
I think my sims are going to have a blast! Just like going to a real concert. I already have my sim lined up and some cc animated dance moves ready🥳🥳

I think it's cool that they thought of a way to do this even though the game is not online. It's just not something that appeals to me personally. I actually kind of find it odd to do this for offline game.

When I used to play Second Life, I used to go to virtual concerts and live music events all the time, but the other people "watching" were other RL people, also the performers were actually singing in RL and they were streaming their audio into the game in realtime so it was pretty cool, and because the performer was also looking at their screen their avatar could interact with the "crowd" and make comments, greet people who teleported in during the event, etc. It was just wayyyyyy more interactive and realistic.

I hope it will be possible to talk to the singers and get in game autographs. I have a few sims who collect those.

@crocobaura , thanks. I'm still confused though. Is this something we keep? I like the food stands, they look good, especially the trailer one (it looks like something you'd haul behind a vehicle). Oh, plum, now everyone will say this is a hint that cars are coming :D

Never mind, I just read something online. It's a concert festival of some sort, and we can buy stuff and do some karaoke or something. The only thing that would tempt me is that trailer food cart.

I think I'm not the audience for this.

Thanks, EA. I'll keep my money.

edited to add the last 3 paragraphs.

The Trailer Food Cart is from Eco Lifestyle, it's the Footloose Beverage Bodega by Roving Joe

    Food:
    Popcorn Crickets (§12)
    Cricket Meal (§18)
    Bombardier Beetle Stir-Fry (§50)
    Drinks:
    Chamomile Tea (§5)
    Coffee (§5)
    Earl Grey Tea (§5)
    Ginseng Tea (§5)
    Green Tea (§5)
    Hot Cocoa (§5)
    Oolong Tea (§5)
(I copied this from Sims Wiki, too lazy to double check it. I hope it's correct.)

But the one next to it looks like a new Festival Stand, like the ones they have during the Festivals in San Myshuno (City Living).

Weeeeelll, after a session in cas.fulleditmode they could be anybody's favs B)
I'll certainly try turning the trio into a 70s rock band or maybe The Highwaymen (but in a side save, and perhaps only at the last day of the event, in order not to corrupt anything.)

I'm way too excited about this little thing, lol.

The Highwaymen? Are you talking about Waylon, Willie, Kris, and Cash? If so, you're super cool.

It seems like it's free at least, the website reads:
"The Sims™ 4 is your ticket to the concert. Select the platform you'd like to buy it on here."
And if you click your platform link, it just takes you to buy the base game.

Anyway, if it is indeed free I might check it out, disappointed it's not giving us the opportunity to create bands, but I did predict this one, so I guess I should check it out.

Would have preferred Blackberry Smoke or The Struts though.

Thanks, @OutlawWoman. One more reason to buy EL. I'll get it eventually.

Yes, them, their music speaks to something in the soul. Actually I prefer Garth Brooks, but these four together? That's magic.

I gender-swapped Kylo Ren and Rey in JtB, and turned Hondo into a (cc) droid, therefore I'm confident that the trio of singers given to us by the game can get turned into whoever we want, the only limitation being that there can be three only.

So we got auto tune, I like your old stuff better than your new stuff, and only decent one on the list for a random pop up concert, festival thingy, that no one is yet sure how it's all going to work. Eh, sounds like just the sort of chaos the game needs. As long as I don't have to pay anything (can't afford it right now) my Sims will be there - although probably not all 66 of them. :D

We used to get all kinds of in game events and challenges and they were fun, but then a bunch of people (many of whom by their own admission didn’t actually even play TS4) flooded the forums & Twitter with complaints and the Plant Sim challenge I believe, was the end of it. I miss them personally because they livened things up and provided a way to get fun little content additions for your game. *raises fist* ✊🏼 Free Jasmine Holiday!

I'm so glad to find at least one more Outlaw Country fan on here. This may not be our kind of music at this event, but I guess we'll see what we can do to fix it. Good luck, Hoss.

First Snowy Escape, now this. Outdoor Retreat is seething.

They have ways of making items exclusive to certain events, one of the city living festivals uses the digital deluxe tiki bar even if you don't own it. You can't place or buy it it just exists for that event

Is sim!Bebe Rexha's outfit in the game already (if so from which pack?) or will they be releasing it along with the event?

Soooo how much of the game will end up broken from this? (at the very least, during it). Pretty sure I haven't seen one pack, event, anything really that didn't have something wrong with it.

It's totally voluntary so if you're not comfortable you can just skip it. You can just ignore the in game notifications. Or to be extra cautious just don't load your game between 6/29-7/7.

Now I have more of an understanding what this event is I'm kind of looking forward to it now. I don't care much for the music artists involved personally but I still think it might be fun.

Do we already know how long the event will run ingame? If I send a household to the concert, will I be able to send another household from the same save the next day or is the concert a one time occurence per save? (Prepared to create many save_as in case it's one time only).

I thought that I read it would occur on Sundays in game, so I'm assuming every Sunday for anybody that is playing during that 1 RL week duration. (but I could have misunderstood)
