Also, tin-foiled hat on: could this be another clue that bands might be coming to the game in the future? *sigh* I wish!

Could be the opposite: "Here is your band performing, now shut about about it." We'll see.

I hope the festival stays active all through the time frame, not just for a single visit. I have several households I want to send there on different days.

@crocobaura , thanks. I'm still confused though. Is this something we keep? I like the food stands, they look good, especially the trailer one (it looks like something you'd haul behind a vehicle). Oh, plum, now everyone will say this is a hint that cars are coming :D

Never mind, I just read something online. It's a concert festival of some sort, and we can buy stuff and do some karaoke or something. The only thing that would tempt me is that trailer food cart.

I think I'm not the audience for this.

Thanks, EA. I'll keep my money.

Hm, I have a church with a graveyard on that park lot, now I can see a conflict coming up where the priest and his elderly supporters will raise heir fist at the wild youth woohooing in the festival tents! Good thing Mrs Crumplebottom has not yet arrived, or the chaos would be complete, for sure.

In theory, it sounds awesome that they're doing an in-game festival because I'm not likely to really do any livestreams or whatever if they aren't the Maxis 411s or anything that's pack related. But the more I think about it, it just sounds ... eccentric to me. I've never heard of these people in my life (are they very recent because I don't listen to really recent stuff unless its in a movie soundtrack) and ... how would it even work? Do they just have the same lineup every day for a week and the same song and dance (pardon the pun) so everyone can get to see it regardless of when they sign on? Is it basically just going to be me watching my sim watch a concert, being surrounded by a bunch of NPCs and premades or something? It sounds so confusing (and can't we sort of already do this anyway if we really tried hard enough?)

And then it all ... just goes away? That they would have put all that time and money and resources into putting it together and it just vanishes? I'm truly perplexed. Hopefully there'll be more information about this.

Dang, they missed a great opportunity for some Simmed-out fun! Mrs. C banging on the tents with her purse, chasing everyone...I wonder if she can do karaoke? LOL

I think the stuff will be available in debug afterwards, like the stuff that came with Jasmine Holiday and the sugar skulls.

Well it's better than just a twitch stream, which is what I thought it would be. But still not something I'm interested in.

But to everybody who's excited, I hope you have a blast!

I would have been thrilled if they had given us, the players, the ability to put on our own concerts!

I had to look Bebe Rexha, Glass Animals, and Joy Oladokun up because I've never heard of them and wasn't sure if they were real life people or sims. Turns out they are RL pop music singers.

That would be really cool. Here's to hoping they will include this festival that players can control in an upcoming rockstar related pack.

I'll certainly try turning the trio into a 70s rock band or maybe The Highwaymen (but in a side save, and perhaps only at the last day of the event, in order not to corrupt anything.)

I'm way too excited about this little thing, lol.

I’ve heard of bebe rexha so that is something a lot of the recent collabs I’ve never heard of including the recent person for the lgbt livestream. I really don’t know what to make of this it sounds good in concept but I feel it’s another hype that really won’t mean much in the long run for the game. I hope this does not take up a lot or if it does we can pick a lot to place it on as I do not want it on any built lots I already have in my game.

Festivals never take place on lots, always in the neighbourhood space.

One of the performers is a singer. Will they put the Singing skill in the basegame, or will it be an interaction exclusive to that sim?

The Trailer Food Cart is from Eco Lifestyle, it's the Footloose Beverage Bodega by Roving Joe

    Food:
    Popcorn Crickets (§12)
    Cricket Meal (§18)
    Bombardier Beetle Stir-Fry (§50)
    Drinks:
    Chamomile Tea (§5)
    Coffee (§5)
    Earl Grey Tea (§5)
    Ginseng Tea (§5)
    Green Tea (§5)
    Hot Cocoa (§5)
    Oolong Tea (§5)
(I copied this from Sims Wiki, too lazy to double check it. I hope it's correct.)

But the one next to it looks like a new Festival Stand, like the ones they have during the Festivals in San Myshuno (City Living).

The Highwaymen? Are you talking about Waylon, Willie, Kris, and Cash? If so, you're super cool.

It seems like it's free at least, the website reads:
"The Sims™ 4 is your ticket to the concert. Select the platform you'd like to buy it on here."
And if you click your platform link, it just takes you to buy the base game.

Anyway, if it is indeed free I might check it out, disappointed it's not giving us the opportunity to create bands, but I did predict this one, so I guess I should check it out.

Would have preferred Blackberry Smoke or The Struts though.

Someone on Twitter asked: "I'm confused. Is this for everyone or limited???"

    The Sims replied:

Plaintext of the Tweet for those who need it:
Both? #SimsSessions is an in-game event available from June 29 to July 7! Starting on June 29, everyone who owns #TheSims4 will be able to join in and experience the musical event until July 7 at 10 PM PST

I think this will work like the festivals in City Living and Snowy Escape. You will get a pop-up notification and pressing the button will load your sim into the festival area. The npc sims will perform their songs on a stage, it will probably be similar to how the sims use the karaoke machine. When their sets are finished your sim can play the piano or sing into the microphone. This would have been great way to introduce drums but I am not getting my hopes up. Free stuff will probably be t-shirts with the artist logos and any new CAS created for the performers.

I'd hardly call what those two do "singing." /jk

My guess is that they'll set it up as a Free Trial like they did for City Living a while back, which could suck for people like me who couldn't get the Free Trial to work .... but than again being that I can't be bothered to even look up who these performs are, whatever.
    The cake is a lie
