Legacy question

I'm playing through a legacy (sort of, I'm not really following the rules to the letter, changing a bit to suit the way I play). I have a question for all the people who are au fait with the legacy rules etc. My sim has finally (It's taken a while) got 50000 simoleans saved. The house looks like something Dr. Seuss designed, because I've been adding on from the first shack my sim managed to afford. She's not long for this (sims) world now. I know I have to stay put on the lot, but am I allowed to rebuild the house so it's not quite so disjointed, or do her descendants just have to deal with it. From the outside it looks kinda nice and homely, but the inside layout etc. is an abomination due to the lack of funds meaning each bit was bought when it could be afforded, and not always in a size (3x3 not 4x4 etc.) that fit the house. The items fitted fine, but the rooms are basically what she could pay for at the time!

You are allowed to redesign, as long as you stay in the same huge lot

Great, thank you, it'll make the house a lot easier to play in!

It looks very grand, but it's more or less empty.
