Hey, fellow Simmers:
I've noticed since the most recent patch of (March 23, 2021), when hungry, my sims cook food but won't eat what they made during game play. Instead, they go on to cook more and more food with dishes of food everywhere, lol. Sometimes they move on to something else and then, appear to starve. When I don't play and come back to visit a household, there are now dishes everywhere. The sims could have at least put them away....

As far as the plants go, my sims plants now always look dried out and will only occasionally still harvest as normal. However, they still look awful even at harvest. Like beige-y or ashy olive color to the leaves. It doesn't seem to matter if my sims water them or not. They just look bad. Whereas, they never did that before this recent patch.
Has anyone else noticed these issues?? I don't have any mods, btw.

The food bug is reported here: https://answers.ea.com/t5/Bug-Reports/OPEN-Sims-cook-but-don-t-autonomously-eat-cook-more-eat-quick/td-p/9724949 littlemssam have made a mod called prefer leftovers that could maybe help.
When it comes to the plants I'm not sure what exactly the bug is, my plants revert to dirt piles https://answers.ea.com/t5/Bug-Reports/NEEDS-SAVES-In-Season-Plants-revert-to-dirt-piles-Patch-1-68/td-p/9726151 but I have seen them turn into green clouds as well https://answers.ea.com/t5/Bug-Reports/OPEN-Plants-playing-dead-emitting-green-cloud/td-p/9751998
As you can see, some of it has gone bad.

Yep, that's exactly what I'm seeing along with the plant mounds. I will make a complaint about it on EA help board and maybe if enough people make them aware of it, it will promptly fixed. At least, I hope. Because I'm getting tired of my Sims spending all their time cleaning up those dishes instead of going off on some adventure, lol.
Thanks for the board links so I don't have to fill out a whole new complaint. Guess we'll have to wait til the next patch to see if they fix this. Here's to crossing my fingers they do.
with cooking stuff and not eating it
And I've also noticed the plant issues, some disappearing, others looking dry and dead when in season in 2 different saves in different worlds
Not a bad idea for those ice cream machines and popcorn! Because it is irritating when sims keep making sorbet or bowls of popcorn when they're hungry and you want them to eat a regular meal.
As for the kitchen, that could be a little tricky for the builds that don't feature the open concept as you said. But it could help with the ones where a door won't mess up the look of the decor. At least, until EA fix this bug. Thx
I'll try it. Hopefully, it will help the appearance of the plants too.
Also, I always just give my sims the "FreshChef" trait. So even if they have all this food laying around, it won't ever go bad. Just take up a lot of space.
Ughh...I hate when they start eating those chips and there's a big meal sitting out or they got plenty of leftovers, lol.
Except I and others didn't have that issue before the patch though and in my game, it's happening all the time. Not once in a while. Hence the post, lol.
She sat at the table to chat but then Karlie complained she was starving and disappeared off, presumably to get some food... the mind boggles
And, yes, my plants are also looking dried out and grey, even after my gardener waters them.
The game has turned into a weird post-apocalyptic state, sims are starving and plants are dying.
Lol, these pics are both funny and frustrating, Yep, that's what I'm seeing and also on counters inside the house. And with the plants, I tried to water them too, but still the same and so ugly.
Right, post-apocalyptic state and the fact, that we have to watch the sim starve because they simply won't eat the food or eat something lightweight like cereal or chips is also frustrating. Kind of messes up the fun of EA adding so many new dishes in recent months, lol.
My Plumbob is GREEN today
i have autonomous on and this bug seems to happen only on sims that are not the active sim...
