Keyboard backlight trouble - can anyone help?

My backlights on my steelseries keyboard on my MSI ge66 raider laptop suddenly stopped working yesterday after a windows update.
I've tried updating the keyboard drivers and steelseries engine - nothing
I've done a virus scan - nothing
I've done a system restore to get rid of the update - nothing
I've messed around with fn keys, pgup/pgdn keys and +/- keys - nothing
Can someone please please help me? My laptop is not even 2 months old, I love my light settings on my keyboard and it not working is really upsetting.
