I'm not sure yet, I would have to see more about those two games once they are done, but from what I have seen so far, I am really anxious for Inzoi. Looks amazing, and exactly what I would expect from the Sims at this point. Graphics were they should be for a video game.

The graphics of Inzoi are the best by far. But as a Paralives patron on Patreon, I am enthusiastic about their gameplay reveals of the personality, relationship, and job systems. It's better than anything I've ever seen in Sims 2, 3 or certainly 4.

But the open world of Inzoi is breathtaking. I mean, that supermarket!? That fire station!? 2024 will be a great year for simulation games.

Yes, I plan on getting Paralives as soon as it's released (possible 2021)

The kindest thing to be said is put it out of its misery and start fresh from scratch.

I don’t like the art style on Paralives, I’m holding my judgement on TS5 (Project Rene). What I see over the next few years determines whether my wallet opens or not for EA’s next offering,

Meanwhile, I’m considering a new computer for Life By You which has now entered the ring.

Considering I need a darned good computer to play MSFS2000 and DCS (Digital Combat Simulator). I’m gonna be getting a system with the benchmarks to run THOSE two particular games. That should more than adequately handle TS3’s finicky Error 12s.

No, I'm going to stay with Maxis and wait to buy TS5 or whatever their new AAA game will be
I prefer Sims 5, because the other game companies are inexperienced.

Krafton and Paradox are quite experienced. The only indie developer of the bunch is Paralives.

I don't know, I love Maxis, but I don't want a TS5 MMO and might have to jump ship and go with Steam's game.
Paralives looks interesting and I like some of the visual style. I understand that it's from Montreal, it feels very French in a way that I like. I don't think it completely replaces The Sims. I'd have interest and probably play both without one competing with the other (unless TS never fixes its bugs lol). Even so, they've been talking about Paralives for years and we're still waiting. I'm guessing it'll be a lot of fun if we ever see it.

Not everyone might agree with me but I do think of the quote, "The perfect is the enemy of the good." If you try to please everyone, you may end up pleasing no one ... in this case, by waiting years for a hypothetical product. Anyway, I really like the architecture and the "French" look. The characters are sometimes a little overly cartoony to me. I also wonder if I would get bored of it faster if it's pretty much released as one game with few to no expansions. That said, if we actually see it, I'd probably get it and still play with TS4. No opinion yet on Project Rene, not sure about Life By You. About Inzoi, I like the cats, not sure about the rest at this stage but maybe. That almost feels like AI.

I'm not planning to dump my ongoing gameplay with TS4 but keep fixing the bugs. Personally, I'm not paying anyone for game production of games that aren't anywhere near release. That's just me. I don't mind having more options in the game space because honestly there are few in this category. I don't want to play Second Life and I don't want a bunch of micro-transactions or content you "have" to buy to play but I also don't want to get bored.

Late 2024 or in 2025 is my best estimate. They haven't published this yet

The animations are never a letdown with Paralives hopefully they are getting closer to being able to show an actual play through once they get enough of these animations completed.

The quality of the animations is just like the Sims 2, which is the highest compliment.

Unfortunately, the Paralives patreon monthly earnings has been trending downward. Within the past 2 years, they had a high of 8,662 patrons. They're slightly down at 7,239. Game development takes time, but perhaps some patrons have grown impatient.

Paralives remains at the #8 top game funded on the entire Patreon platform, by paid member count.

Investors want a return on their investment. Unfortunately, those in the USA take a short-term view, not a long-term one. Since there is no product to sell that translates into earnings per quarter, the measure is progress that translates into a release date. As in near term, not the indefinite future. Simmerorigin is likely correct.

Development seemed to slow down greatly once they moved on to live mode when they were working on Paramaker and build mode they constantly had new stuff to show not so much now. Last few months we got a horse head and a few rooms decorated in new objects they need to draw in new Patreon's I don't think that is going to do it.

I am no longer interested in Paralives after seeing life by you and that inzoi. I just can't deal with that strange drawing like character. It looks so out of place compared to the beautiful homes and outside. And since we have so many options now, I will stick to the most realistic games. So now, I'm purchasing both LBY and Inzoi.

Agree with you. Those 'people' clash horribly with the rest of it. It's like putting 1990s games characters (remember those? revolutionary back then, but now...) into current era worlds.

I thought I was the only one who wasn't impressed by the style of the "Parafolk".

I'm the outlier because I actually like the look of the Paralives characters and I actually liked them with the artsy contouring before they changed it. I think the game looks charming and if we see it I'll probably pick it up which would not compete with my sims game. I could see having enough rainy day fun with it to get it. I'm also interested in seeing what TS5 does with the unreal engine so I'm potentially interested in that though I don't know if I'd jump on it right away or wait. I recently came back to my TS4 game, am still interested and plan to keep playing it but I do want to see patching of bugs which is very important. If they keep developing it, I'm still interested and I'll probably keep playing with it either way when I want to.

I'm glad to see so much interest in the Life Sim concept which seems to parallel an interest in AI. However, I only have so much time and interest so I'll play what I want to play and have time for. I don't judge anyone else making an assessment and deciding differently. I think different players probably want different things. We all just want to play in our own ways and there are differences in preferences between some large groups of players.

For me personally, I do not want to play a game that looks like an older version of The Sims Series which is how Life By You looks to me at this time. I know some people do, I don't. I also don't want to be tied down to one relatively small world even if it is open. I know other people do and that's fine, we're just different. I don't want to be stuck with one playable world looking like Southern California and I don't want to have to start a new save in order to play with different households. As for Inzoi, cool and maybe I will get interested but right now, it's not there for me. There are some differences of opinion and that's fine.
