Most of the old photos that have a brown tint (sepia photos) did not turn brown with age. The sepia was used as a toner to prevent the photos from rotting or fading over time. And Sepia is really edible! It comes from the cuttlefish. On top of all that, the reason most people who use old sepia (and black and white) photos frown is due to the fact that photography was still very new in the 19th century, so It took at least 10 minutes for a photo to be taken and developed, many people just didn't smile, since smiling for 10 minutes is not fun. That's your mini vintage photography lesson! LOL
