This is my problem. Just because a third party is bought out by the main company responsible, it doesn't necessarily make it better. Last year, LEGO bought Bricklink, which was an online marketplace that mostly dealt in new and used LEGO pieces and sets; which had been mostly unaffiliated for years; but had gone through a string of owners in the past 5-6 years after its founder passed away. They changed some of the database numbering system; and introduced a new fee structure; as well as instituting some odd policies involving VAT and state sales tax. Interestingly enough, I knew members of another forum who hadn't sold anything in years on Bricklink, and were getting invoices for tax owed.
But, I would like to see a framework implemented that allows mods to auto-update, like many of those on Steam I play that have Workshop functionality.
