How Do You Make Decor Items on Blender 2.67?

I haven't came across anything in particular about this. I've seen meshes that can be used, but I don't believe that TSW will let you upload it. I've probably ran across some speed throughs that've claimed that they were tutorials, but it's hard to keep up with them when I don't even know what's going on. And whenever I see someone who has personally uploaded their own content of said thing, there's no way to contact them. Plus, their explanations aren't always clear when asked.
So, if by chance, does anyone have any experience with making something like a canvased portrait or a mirror? Something small, of course. Any links to tutorials (images, videos, step-by-steps) would be fine, too. 🙂
