"Load in Progress" Freeze While Saving?

I just wanted to see if this is a known issue. I suspect this is what happened to my game, but am not entirely sure. I was updating a family; I remember saving halfway just in case, then noticing it was frozen when I was done. You cannot save, manage worlds, build, etc. The cursor hover said loading was in progress. I remembered I saved so I exited to menu and went back, but my halfway save did not seem to complete because my family was nowhere to be found.

Has anyone heard of this happening prior to the latest series of patches? I had not been having problems and I have never used custom content.

Repairing your game via Origin will solve this. The launcher borked the patch for many players.
