Which Balcony?

I meant to post this in the Lots section, but there is no poll option there, so I decided to post here.


Which balcony style looks the best?


In case the pictures are not clear:

1. The second floor balcony has no columns or spandrels.
2. The second floor balcony has columns and spandrels, but no roof above those.

I'm not very knowledgeable about this kind of style, so I'm not sure if the second option is architecturally correct, even though I think it looks prettier.

I'd say option 2, but with a roof over them. So, that's kinda option 3 I suppose. It's what I would do anyway.

Yeah I tried a glass roof but there are just so many edges that it doesn't look nice. I'm not sure how a solid roof would look..

option 1, I dont like columns, they get in the way when playing. but my houses are never that big lol.

Yeah I can understand that. Too much clutter on the screen sometimes.

this aligns with my thoughts on the matter

I feel like it makes the building look older which is vibe i like better when it comes to big houses

#1 feels more balanced to me - #2 feels cluttered/cramped/something, and the spandrels just hanging out there doing nothing feel funny to me. I'd probably like it better if they had a roof over them (could be independent of the main roof) and possibly if the 2nd floor walls were slightly taller so the windows and columns don't feel quite so crammed together.

(Love the build, though. Whichever way you go, that house has a lot of character!)

I love the spandrels and columns... but only if you also place a roof over them. It looks weird without one... otherwise, if you don't want a roof, I'd say the first option looks best.

I like option 2. With or without a roof. I think a full roof would look ok too. different height than the current one.

Both are really cute, but 2 is classy as hell and adds a lot more dimension.
