The lack/freedom from memories, collection of stats etc makes the sims more of an empty canvas to project upon, something a lot of simmers seem to do. It also frees them from the focus of productivity so emphasized in TS3 and creates a different attitude towards gameplay, the game being so easy adds to this. It isn't so grinding anymore, and the player is free to goof around more.
