(This post is just speculation on what could be coming to The Sims 4 in next weeks update for the Journey To Batuu pack and to celebrate The Sims 4 turning 6)
Next week The Sims 4 will be turing 6 years old can you believe it, it only feels like yesterday that I was waiting for the the gams to download on Origin. With the upcoming 6 year anniversary for The Sims 4 and the Base Game update to get ready for Journey To Batuu, we could be seeing something good coming to the game in the free update as SimGuruFrost on Twitter still has not changed his twitter name which has got me thinking is something still brewing to be announced by the team?

Lets take a recap and have a look at what last year's update for the games brought to The Sims 4 to get a better understanding what could be added to the game to celebrate the 6th year anniversary of The Sims 4:
NEW CONTENT
Configurable Stairs
There’s magic in the air, and the candle summoning circles you’ve been sending us via Twitter in an effort to will new types of stairs into existence has worked! Configurable stairs have been added to the game, giving you the ability to create stairs that are L-shaped, U-shaped, and more! Excited to try them out? Simply place any set of stairs down in build mode, and you’ll notice a new widget that appears… it’s a box with two arrows attached to it. Grab onto that with your cursor and drag, and suddenly your stairs will be bent 90°! Keep dragging, and the stairs will bend 180°. Once you’ve bent your stairs, you’ll see another two widgets appear. A diagonal arrow above the newly-added landing will let you adjust the height of the landing within the staircase. A curved arrow at the base of the stairs will allow you to continue to rotate the direction of the stairs beneath the landing. For times when a single landing just isn’t enough, you can keep adding additional bends to your stairs--as long as they’re tall enough to have room for another one. I think that just about covers the basics; so get in there and try it out, experiment, and create some amazing new builds!
5th Anniversary
It’s already been five years since The Sims 4 released; whew--time flies when you’re simming! In celebration of this milestone, we’ve added a set of end-of-summer content so that your Sims can join in the festivities. Invite some friends and family over, fire up the grill, and enjoy a backyard get together with this new content. (FYI - the new stilted foundation is perfect for creating a backyard deck!) You’ll even spot some patterns with nods to famous icons of The Sims...

This was definitely a lot if cool content especially with the addition of muslim content as the game was lacking Muslim representation and I was here for the representation.
There are a couple of things that could be added into the update like improved babies, burglars as these Sims are the only NPC Sims we need to be added into the Base Game as we got firemen in the June update for the release of Eco Lifestyle, bunk beds, the updated skintones to give us better representation, cars, and finally a clue of being able to placed 2 windows on 1 tile which was spotted by Maxis Match CC World on Twitter when watching the Journey To Batuu trailer. The team will also most likely add extra CAS and Build Mode items to the Base Game for Simmers to enjoy.
Overall what are your guys thoughts, do you think we will get anything for the 6th year anniversary for The Sims 4, could it be like the 20th Anniversary of The Sims were we only got a hot tube, or could something big be coming for the Base Game that Simmers have been asking for? I guess we will have to find out.
Happy speculating Simmers!

But I can dream for a S5 announcement lol!
I made a poll where I asked if Maxis would celebrate six years with the sims 4. Most people there have voted voted no. Other people think that we could maybe get a sale, and a few think that we will get an update.
Me neither, I can't believe they posted a picture with a gnome that said "15" for example. Talk about minimum effort, reusing a 5 year old picture.
but with 20 swatches.
even expecting nothing they manage to disappoint
I just really want them to put some effort towards fulfilling a lot of the wants , for things that simmers have been asking for.
Anticipating Sims 5.... : P
This LOL...
I know some people are tired of ‘negativity’ but you can see all over the web how broken down a lot of long time fans are, It’s just sad to me after being around this community as long as I have. I remember a lot of disappointments with a Sims 3, I don’t remember ever seeing this community hopeless like this.
...and yet, people still mention binning off this game and moving on to TS5...as if EA will suddenly change their ability to deliver 😂
Really, why not the buffet table or ice cream maker or something like that. If they can make one stuff pack redundant in terms of gameplay, they can do it to others as well. (end sarcasm)
Honesty at this point I don't care if they add more hot tubs. The damage is already done.
I love the quote “when someone tells you who they are, believe them.” EA has said and shown multiple times, subtly and not so subtly, that they are taking this game in a much different direction than the series I personally grew up with and adore. They’ve said they want new players, they have made it clear that I (who literally just wants a game that feels fulfilling without mods) am no longer their concern or demographic. I don’t ever want to poo on someone’s excitement or hope, but I myself have a very bleak outlook for Sims 5 and what kind of game it’s going to be.
