I reached a big milestone in my Detroit save and plan to start a new Star Wars save for a change of pace, a cross of BACC and Batuu gameplay with my favorite premades.
Here are my founders, the BFF, acting as the stewardess, pilot and mechanic on a colony ship (George Cahill will join them as the Captain):
Problem: I'm only a casual fan and can't think of enough holidays to fill the calendar. So far I have:
- Life Day, late Fall, a mix of Thanksgiving and Christmas
Traditions: Decorate tree, Light tree, Sing
- Unlife Day, introduced in the Darths & Droids webcomic only a couple of strips ago, a droid apprecciation day
Traditions: Tinkering?
- Godmother's Day, because in my setting ŦĦ€ ΜØŦĦ€Ř is a crimelady
Traditions: Give Flowers, probably also brawling (since half of the planet would be opposed to the idea of venerating her) and Attend holiday service (she may hold audiences), Give bribes gifts
- Something First Order related (the colony is theirs, the goal is to become independent)

Assuming it's a military parades and cheering/flag waving from the crowd thing, I think I'll use "Attend holiday ceremony" (must attend the march), "Fireworks", "Decorate" (the flags from the Batuu GP), "Games" and "Tell (war) stories".

That's exactly what it is! And I don't know, but it shouldn't be too hard to look up, since it's the anniversary of the Fall of the Republic and that's all tied to movie events.

All of these sound like really great holidays! Maybe a modder could make a "play Sabaac" tradition. That would be quite useful, I think. I wouldn't mind being able to make a Pod Racing Holiday, with drinking, fighting, attend ceremony (for the race), and Sabaac. I would probably throw streaking into the mix too. I try to fit that one in when I can.
I have Streaking slotted for "Unlife Day", along with Apprecciate Object (electronics), Cleaning (put yourself into your droid's shoes) and Fasting (to better value your household droid's cooking next time). A droid's nakedness sounds like something droid activists would point out, and imitate to provoke people. And then regular folks use that as an excuse for mischief
I wouldn't mind having an actual pod race in the game. Or more like a soap box racing SP for kids.
Festival of Light - mid year, parties & presents
Festival of the Stars - no date given, celebrates space travel, this will go wherever I need it
All species day - Coruscant only, no date given, in my First Order colony this will either become an underground/resistance holiday or the FO has turned it into a human supremacy show, I haven't decided what route to go with this
Carnival week - includes public executions, I'll put this into late winter and probably give the convicted sim a chance to survive if they are a played sim
Empire Day - found a date: 19th day of 3rd month
Life Day - I'll put this on the first day of winter, because of the Thanksgiving/Christmas inspiration, but without a give gifts tradition
Unlife Day (non canon) - already covered
Founder's day - wherever I need it
Everytime I play my Batuu save I get more and more excited to play it. I have so many saves that when I play them rotationally it takes months until I get to it. I normally don't play more than two hours max, but today when I played it I noticed that I had spent almost 4 hours playing. It's so hard to stop. Every time my Sim compeleted a mission I thought "maybe one more"... over and over again.
I love this game pack so much and I don't even know much about Star Wars, especially the characters or the lore that JtB is based on. I've only seen the original SW movies and it's been so long I don't even remember much about them.
I had a good laugh today when my Resistance Member Sim was doing a mission in First Order District and she saw a Resistance leader and her best friend Vi Moradi running by holding a trash pack. I guess she wasn't there just for undercover business, but she was worried about the cleanliness of the First Order District too. I didn't expect to see her there and I've never seen her doing the same thing in Resistance Encampment.

Black Spire Day is also Star Wars Day! So if you're playing Batuu as if it's the theme park and not a planet, you could include that in your games.

I'll keep these two in mind for the later years. At the moment the government management doesn't want the settlers to get too friendly with the locals and actively discourages trips to Surabat and Peka (Selvadorada and Sulani) and those in turn aren't too thrilled to have the First Order citizens around. My sims' first Harvest Festival with the locals will be a big milestone - looking forward to it!
An issue occured when I thought I had my calendar finished and started playing: Holiday objectives do not appear while in Batuu.
It's not that big a deal, the sim day was long enough to roleplay All Species Day in the cantina, and then return to Foundry Cove to get the checkmarks. But I hadn't expected that, so far holidays tended to travel with my sims. What about Selvadorada and Granite Falls? Can I see the holiday objectives there?
A while back I watched a short called "Star Wars Biomes" which basically is a fly-through tour of iconic Star Wars locations. I found it to be rather beautiful and soothing.
Today I visited Batuu again and I was reminded of that short, so I went ahead and toured around in cinema mode.
Below is the result. It's such a charming world.
I just thought on posting it here too, my sim just found an easy way to get some starter credits, haha, bartending
She got 10 credits per drink as tip, just level 1 at mixology. She was at level 3 when I made her to stop, by then she got 15 per drink

@elanorbreton , My sim is doing just that. She officially lives at New Crest, at empty 20x15 lot.
Bills are like couple of simoleons per week, with her starterfunds she can pay those with phone for long time, but I haven't bothered, as so what if the water and electricity of the empty home lot is cut

It's been a while since I visited Batuu but I'm happy to see this thread is still going strong.
Can someone please remind me? It's possible to just stay forever in Batuu isn't it? To basically just live there and never return home?
@elanorbreton Definitely. I have a small group of Sims who went to Batuu and never came back. Their house sits empty up on the hill in Del Sol Valley. One day I'll bring them back so that my "Jedi" can work on her powers, but they really do just belong in Batuu. They have accumulated a bunch of droids so their group looks much bigger. I know that when they return to Sim Nation, their droids will cease to be sentient, so I just leave them where they are all in their natural state.
I went even more far what can I do testing, and haha:
Barn is hidden under the fake rock wall there.
Exited without saving as she has not yet time or credits for this

@Ellupelluellu Omg that essentially makes them alien cows and chickens! Unless Sim Nation has set up a trade deal with Batuu, which is possible. That's amazing!
I did test this too, too bad when I hired a vendor it took one of my own sims, but just wanted to test if it works Naturally not a good place either, I was simply just testing, and she could buy or sell everything , just not for simoleons
