@SilentKitty I found out that there are both lightsaber sparring practices and challenge duels. Apparently you can get lightsaber parts from challenges (but not every time).
Journey to Batuu gets too much hate. Yes, I realize it is a Star Wars based pack but if you're not a Star Wars fan and you're not into a pack based mostly around gameplay don't get it. I personally like the gameplay and the world, and I'm glad to see a positive thread towards this pack. I am a huge Star Wars fan so I was extremely excited about this pack and for me it exceeded my expectations. I didn't think that EA could do much with Star Wars in The Sims 4, but the gameplay is very engrossing and It's fun to lose yourself in the Star Wars world. Enough with the hate people, this pack if for entertainment purposes.

I finally got back into my Batuu save last night. Irving and Bryna made a little more progress in the Paragon of Hope Aspiration for the Resistance. Little Aura had fun as well.
Arrived in Batuu for the 2nd time. "Hey there, scoundrel. How's business?"
Bryna purchased her own droid and named her Beebie. Aura plays with her Porg doll while a Batuu citizen watches.
Irving is sad about the evil sims he meets. He has the good trait.
But not everyone has joined the dark side.
Bryna manages to loot two containers, but Irving gets caught and questioned. Luckily, he was able to talk his way out of trouble.
Evil or not, the bad guys sure do Dress to Impress! "Great outfit, Kylo ... uh, Mr Ren."
Irving tries again further away from First Order headquarters.
He gets double-teamed, but schmoozes his way out of further questioning. And he soon gets his two containers looted.
Back at their Resistance bunker, Bryna and Irving chat with their Droids, Beebie and Droy.
While Aura sleeps, they play a friendly game of sabacc.
Spent some more time in Batuu. Irving and Bryna are both Rank 3 Rebels now. Aura has gained all her toddler skills and will be aging up soon.

I wonder if it will ever go on sale. I've been debating getting it because I like the CAS items. I just don't know if I can justify the full game pack price for CAS only.
There is a new sale going on Origin right now. Batuu is currently 25% off.
I wish it would go down just a bit more so I can join in here. LOL My budget is a bit squeaky at the moment.

I don't remember when I posted this but it was quite a while ago so that particular sale ended. Batuu was 50% off during the last Halloween sale. Let's hope they repeat it again this year.

The children in these pictures are Hugo and Luna Villareal, Max isn't born yet (and has a different mother).
I'm currently playing a side save with the Villareal family and plan to send Brandon (Jacques' probably out of wedlock son, but in any case his step-son) to Batuu. Decided to give it a little backstory in which Jacques used to be pals with Hondo Ohnaka before he had his own crime empire in Windenburg solidified. So when Brandon goes to Batuu, he'll do an "internship" in Hondo's firm instead of arriving as a complete stranger.
Earth and Sixam in this universe probably are located far in the outer rim and Batuu is their gate to the big world.
So here Jacques' step-son is: Brandon "Donny" Colch, proud scoundrel (with currently two ranks in the resistance for easy access to a holotable).
He is from the gallery, one of the Renegades from the Get together trailer who are missing in the shipped version, and either recreated by iamkerri or vampiresteeth (they both recreated trailer sims I dearly love, so I just thank them both).
Anyway, I think I found a look for Donny that does look out of place at Batuu specifically, but not in the Star Wars verse in general. He'll stick out as an outsider and most likely register as a wannabe pilot/smuggler type, but nothing about him screams "Earthling" on first glance. Or so I hope, lol.
Brandon got a Batuu outfit after a certain point of the story today, where his current outfit got shredded. I don't have any good screenshots of the new clothes yet.
Brandon was very lucky with kyber crystals and hilts. He has his own lightsaber and also "recovered" those of his parents.
I'll buy more lightsabers for all the Knights of the Hedge, who in this universe may just turn out to be a Sith spinoff similarly to the Knighs of Ren. Jacques might have known Ren, I'm not sure about the canon timeline.

I may withdraw him from Batuu today, since he's been through enough for a teen. It would make more sense if he returned as an adult and then finished taking over the town in the name of... about that I'm undecided. Brandon could continue working for the organized crime or join the rebels full time.

I love the Cas items, the build and buy assets, the new food items, the bots and the lightsabres, the spaceships and the general principle of pack i.e. the struggles against the New Order/Rebellion, but I was less impressed with the fact that there was no where to live in the world, no Jedi powers and that as a pack it seemed undecided whether it was intended to be a theme park experience or a real alien world set in the Star Wars Universe.

I created a home-base in the basement of the Cantina and I treat it as a theme park to make it more useful for more of my sims.
No Jedi powers and droids that behave more like toys outside of the world forces it to be a theme park in my opinion.
There are so many objects from other packs that cannot be used in Batuu. It really hurts creative play.
I adapted it as best I could and I really love the pack despite the lost potential of it.
