I decided not to buy the pack because I have never approved of Disney, as entertainment nor as company, and the Star Wars world is too silly even for me; but since I got it from someone else I use it, and the build mode items are very nice, especially the lamps. I also like that the food comes on black plates, and some of the CAS items are elegant.
In other words it's not as bad as people pretend and there are even plenty of items everyone can use regardless of whether they like star wars.
i have never said it was a bad pack. My intent to not buy it stems from my distaste for the Disney company. Most packs I have bought I have done so for different reasons, I like building and testing, and as long as there are nice items in the smaller packs I buy them whether the main feature is interesting or not.

I bought this pack a bit ago, but have never played it until today. Lady Ver has joined the First Order. Can she also run some scoundrel missions? Or will she have to strictly be First Order?
I bought Journey to Batuu on sale a few days ago. I've been having fun, but it's also been a challenge because I decided to take the whole household to Batuu.
I happened to see a toddler in the Gallery labeled Orphan of Batuu, and I had to have her! In fact, all 3 sims in this household came from the Gallery. I modified them for my game play and placed them in Britechester. The goal is to have them split their time between University and Batuu.
Irving Ross adopted Aura and claims her as his daughter. Bryna Parsons joined the household as a roommate, but is Aura's other caretaker. After settling the family in Britechester, I then sent them on to Batuu.
I took a lot of screenshots, so I grouped them under spoiler headings in 3 different posts. These first pics are of family time in Batuu.
Irving and Bryna both had to join the Resistance in order for the family to stay in the Resistance's forest camp. I also made them a dwelling inside the mountain bunker, on the ground floor, but they couldn't access that until they reached Rank 2.
Outdoor cooking and fun-time renovations.
A hygiene bush and a potty chair.
A shower hidden under the trees (in the rusted metal enclosure).
The mountain bunker dwelling is a mix of Batuu furnishings and other more basic sims items.
@Monet11 The Scoundrel group has a different aspiration from the Hope VS Order Aspiration (which is the beginning stage of choosing either the Resistance or the First Order. From what I understand, you can join either the Resistance or the First Order, but I guess you can switch to the Scoundrel aspiration and do those missions without affecting your other faction reputation because Scoundrels are neutral.
Factions and missions
The player will choose to align themselves with up to two of the three factions: Scoundrel, First Order or Resistance. To do so, missions have to be performed for a specific faction. Upon successful completion of the mission, the Sim's influence towards the faction will increase, eventually becoming a member of that faction. Sims also earn galactic credits or bonus items as rewards for finishing missions. Reaching higher levels of influence with a faction will bring benefits such as access to its secret areas, permission to fly their spaceship or more social interactions.
Sims can only gain influence with either the First Order or the Resistance. Performing missions for one faction will decrease its influence on the other. For example, a successful mission for the First Order nets a Sim more influence with the First Order but as a consequence, its influence with the Resistance is decreased. However influence points for the Scoundrel faction is unaffected and can be gained regardless of a Sim's alignment with the First Order or the Resistance.
I didn't read this entire thread, but I did see that many have turned Oasis Springs into their home world. Looks good to me. I have found 1 non-residential lot in the gallery that I like for the 50x50 park lot. I haven't downloaded any of the others to see if I might like them, because they don't really grab me. What types of builds do you have for the two 50x50 lots? I don't like to have residential lots on that large lot size because I tend to play single sims most of the time. A palatial estate would probably suit Lady Ver. I do think though, that she should keep a smaller profile for now.
I use Sulani and Selvadorada for Batuu hinterlands and Strangerville as my sims' homeworld (ruled by Mother as crime lord). My largest lots are a military base (formerly first order, now rebels) and a scrapyard. I think a droid scrapyard or space ship cemetary would go well with that Oasis Springs 50x50 lot. You could add the woodworking and robtics benches and zone it as whatever you wanted, even a restaurant (just add a food cart and some shabby tables to the scrapyard Jakku style).
For a single sim residence I'd put a smaller house and lots of landscaping. In an Oldwest save I used it as a farm. Just because the lot is large doesn't mean it needs to get covered by an estate.

I did take a look at Strangerville for a home-world. But I don't know that I like the aesthetics of all those empty buildings. It isn't the look I have in mind. I have a mod that takes all the weirdness out, including the plants. And I love that. I guess my sim could have a secondary home there. She could be the slum-lord of the trailer parks. Not something I had in mind, but who knows.
It was nice catching up on the thread. Have been gone for a few months but I am starting to read up on the newest changes and seeing what is happening in the game now. I really enjoyed seeing all your Batuu-stuff,
I didn't redo all of oasis springs, just one neighbourhood. I added a restaurant, a park, two residential lots and one rental . That way my sims can go on a holiday in a batuu like environment. I found most of these lots on the gallery, just edited them a little bit. I set up the restaurant to serve only batuu food so my sims can learn the dishes there.
@EnkiSchmidt I really like the scrapyard idea with the woodworking and robot workbenches. I think I will have to do some editing of my lots to incorporate them. Perhaps throw in a rocketship as well.
Gek. Well I feel a bit silly. I searched the gallery under Batuu. Never occurred to me to look under other names. You know, like Tatooine. There's a larger variety than what I previously thought.

Because my mind goes to this: Batuu = Galaxy's Edge, aka Disney's Star Wars park in Disneyland and Disney world. Disney World... which also has Animal Kingdom. Animal Kingdom which has a big green dinosaur over in Dinoland.
It might not be intentional, but if I manage to get Snowy Escape eventually, does that mean I have an Epcot as well? XD

And you're right, Snowy Escape could be a reasonable Hoth... if I wasn't so desperately in love with the Japanese theme and have been wanting that forever. But maybe my OS residents can (once I get the pack on a sale) have themselves a little trip over to recently-turned-tourist-attraction Hoth. (I suspect Hondo had a hand in it ;P)
Back home in Britechester, Irving autonomously challenged Bryna to a lightsaber duel. I watched and discovered that a challenge is more serious than sparring!
