Sims 4 needs to end sometime... otherwise,people will start getting sick of it and switch to other games such as Paralives. I think EA and Sims fans alike need to let go of Sims 4 and move on to Sims 5.
I played the other games for years after they ended their support (I still play Sims 2) and there were many things they never really finished or fixed. And so many things players wanted and never got.
As long as they are continuing to address bugs and add meaningful gameplay, then why not keep going? I'd love for one of the games to reach the end of its life and actually feel finished. Age isn't the marker for that.

maybe you should shelve the sims 4 then if you're not happy with it but so the sims community should join u?
I am very happy with the sims 4. as I'm sure a lot of others are too. I am lucky enough to own all the current packs and kits I collected since the launch of this game. not so easy for me or some others to start from just a base game again. there are still features I want to complete my collection.
plus all the updates for the base game including NEW features and content. over the last 6 years, they added quite a lot to the base game
plus all the mods/CC to the sims 4. some of them are too good to lose for new games
hoping they continue with the sims 4 and the sims 5. like Freeplay
most likely never because if they are smart , they will roll with the times and soon enough it will be virtual simulations, however I'm gonna give that about ten years, but ya never really know.
I don't want Sims 4 to end until this Pandemic is well and truly over.
I've been depressed after the ending of every one of the past iterations rather than being happy for the next. I could see it going on for years, alongside a new iteration if it goes on with kits, unlike Sims 3 which was brought to an end abruptly when Sims 4 came out. That was a bad idea. Two selling games, side by side seems a good idea to me.
Not until Werewolves, Fairies and Genies are added, If it ended without these Occults being added to Sims 4, we the occult players will passive aggressively make sure that they'll never hear the end of it, we will complain and be very vocal about it, besides It's not we like Devs or anything!
Well, with the addition of Kits, can I change my vote to the year 2525? They could literally go on forever at $5 per kit with one item thingy in each such as a vacuum cleaner kit.

seems like they still plan to release packs longer with this game. they did say this game will be running longer a few years ago and now with kits
they have given us plenty of packs and content and features tho
