Windmills that produce more power

Hi everyone 
Are there any CC windmills that produce more power? My Sims live off the grid and they currently need to use 4 windmills to produce the power they need. The house doesn't look nice anymore like this. They can't use solar panels because their house has a thatched roof, and I don't want the solar panels to take up space in the garden.
I'd go with the power on and off, as this could be pretty realistic gameplay off the grid, but the rooms in their little house get too dark without the powered lights (is there a solution for this?) and candles burn down too quickly (and I don't want them to not burn down, I want the gameplay to stay realistic if you know what I mean).
Would be very happy if someone could help me out.
