Can kids taken away by child services be adopted back W/O mods?

My sims had their 1 day newborn taken away..not even 12 hours since he was born. It was completely my fault and not theirs! My sim had an audition 1 hour after giving birth so she couldn't feed him right away. He got sent to daycare and I guess they don't feed a baby cause when she returned from her audition, I neglected to check the little one. She went to prepare for the role she got and I got a notification to feed the baby or he'll be taken away. Not wanting to interrupt the father from sleeping, or her from preparing, I tried to do the fill needs cheat by shift clicking. And I clicked on an empty option and he got taken away :#JOQm3F5.png I couldn't exit the game because I haven't saved for hours. Is there any way to get him back w/o mods? She's still happy from his birth, she doesn't realize he's gone :# If there's no way without mods, I'll accept that.

    Not without mods, no.

The baby is gone even from the family tree if I remember correctly. Looks like you may have to just get them to have a replacement baby.

Had a feeling that'd be the answer. Thanks nonetheless

What a fun storytelling oppourtunity though! You could go into CAS and 'recreate' Damian using genetics. Then move him out and put him in another 'foster' household. Maybe Damian spends his whole life looking for his family, only to discover his mother has gone on to become a famous celebrity. Or maybe Damian knows all along who his parents are and when your actress becomes rich and famous he comes out of the woodwork to sue her for his share of the inheritance? Or maybe your other child sim never knew about the baby and eventually runs into this kid that looks exactly like him at school and starts investigating what happened?

This is some good stuff, will definitely keep some of these in mind. Thanks!

I just had my first kid taken away in Sims 4 (and had one in Sims 2). There was literally nothing wrong with this toddler other than he had to go to the bathroom. They were on vacation and no potties were available! It's one of my favorite families and I'm super unhappy about it. :s

That is one thing I liked a lot about TS2, if your Sims' child was taken away they would be first in line for adoption in the same age group so it made some really good story opportunities.

This is so sad that you can't do it, because in my gameplay they took the baby away once even tough the needs were green and I tried to adopt it, but the baby wasn't there. I didn't wanted to exit the game, because I achieved so much and build a mansion.

I think the TS4 Child Services should be modified where either
1: After you've been notified that a child might be taken away, a physical Sim will come to take them away so maybe you could "Plead for another Chance" before the kid is gone, or
2: Once the child has been taken away, they'll show up as an adoptable child when you go to "Adopt" on a computer, or finally
3: The child that has been taken away will be put into another household, then, at least, they could still have contact with relatives and friends.

I completely agree. I was so surprised and disappointed when I first learned this feature wasn't included in sims 4. This is one of the reasons why I use mccc.

So, the kid just disappears? I wouldn't expect the original parents to have them back but can no other family?

    Weak.

    Yes!

This really is like a serious bug to me, know that it isn’t a bug but it feels like one. I have to have a backup-plan for this so I use MCCC too.

I have two 'babies' in the family tree that was my fault when I started playing. About 5 generations later they are still there. (In the family tree as babies).
Is there a way I can either bring them back or at the least delete them?

I never intervene with the social services, well not literally, I usually save after I receive notifications then wait it out until SS arrives, reload the save and just before they arrive I moved the toddler to another family by myself. I usually make my sim (the father, usually) pay a visit to his son on another household once a week.
