It's that time again: rent is due. The landlord came by banging on the door. Being a friendly dog, Lick Jagger went out to meet him.
Despite Emiliano wanting Johnny to lay low, Johnny decided to add his two cents. He's a bit stubborn but he just wanted to help. Johnny and the landlord start arguing about the dog.
Johnny "won" the argument and was so proud of himself. He looks over to Emiliano and whispers, "Got 'em!" Emiliano, on the other hand, is thinking, "Just smile and pretend like that didn't happen."
And more development...
They went out to a karaoke bar to unwind a bit. They sang together, and later, Johnny entered the karaoke contest and won $500. He promised he would treat Emiliano to something fancy with his winnings.
Emiliano surprised Johnny with a kiss! I have a mod that makes first kiss autonomous, and I've been waiting for one of them to make the first move. Looks like Emiliano decided it's time to move their relationship forward.
Johnny's music career has been flourishing. He's been performing at popular venues in Del Sol Valley and sharing his music independently. It's only a matter of time before he's signed to a record label.
The landlord is very upset with Emiliano. He tells Lick Jagger that the landlord won't take her away. He'll make sure everything will be okay.
My Sim just recently moved out of her parents' place and got the cheap apartment in San Myshuno. She doesn't know what she wants to do career-wise; she's always dreamt of becoming an author and publishing her own books, but she doubts her dream can pay the bills. She's been trying to get by with her part-time job at a coffee shop.
A while ago, she met her neighbour who turned out to be an Alien (and didn't erase her memory)! They've been getting along really well and she's certainly crushing on him, getting flirty Whims and whatnot. He even asked her out on a date eventually! Not gonna lie, I could already hear those wedding bells, lol. Unfortunately, she had to work in the morning and was forced to leave much earlier than she wanted. So she made her way home and... well...
She ended up getting pregnant. OF COURSE.
Basically, I got one of the classic "young poor mom" storylines without even intending to. Ah well.
Her neighbour-turned-boyfriend supports her, and now she's trying to make the best out of it. She still hasn't written a book because she cannot afford a laptop (F), so she's been selling paintings to save up some money instead.
She just gave birth to her son too, so she's going to focus on finding a better place to live and move in with her alien bf.

Suddenly, Johnny and Emiliano are $1,000,000 richer. Based on everything happening in my story, I had some fun ideas in mind. Looks like those ideas are going in the trash now.
At least it wasn't a cat winning the lottery again.
@NightlyCoffee That is so cool! I've yet to have one of my Sims win. Don't totally lose those fun ideas. Write them down, they may come into play a bit further down the road, you just never know.

Alright, so a lot of things have happened since the last time I posted!
Asher's grown into an independent toddler, and Ceri's been getting used to the whole parenting thing.
She didn't want her son to grow up in the shabby apartment with that unfortunate signature chalk outline, so she scraped together her savings and moved to a tiny hut near the Bramblewood in Henford-on-Bagley.
Summer has come, and Asher is going to age up again the first day of fall. Ceri has been painting like crazy - still not any more confident in her writing skills - to try and save up more money to move into a proper house in Finchwick. Her boy's going to start going to school in just a few weeks, so she doesn't want the way there to be absurdly long.
Alien bf Vraak came to visit less. Well, Ceri is trying not to draw much attention, so she's been isolating, anyway. So far, it's worked - no more alien abductions ever since moving to HoB.
Just now though, something happened that I really didn't expect tbh.
Well, our couple was still crazy for one another. Full bars. But when our dear bf came over to visit one night, he just straight up erased Ceri's memory of him. No warning, nothing. Then he left.
He'd gotten a job as a Secret Agent in the meantime, and I like to think he's still trying to somehow get ahold of those rogue aliens who abducted Ceri. Who still practices abductions to this day?! Which leads me to another classic - leaving your loved one behind to keep them safe. But is it gonna work? I have no idea, but I'm intrigued. This is the most fun I've had with a save in a long time!

I've taken a couple more screenshots, and while I haven't written anything in years (and only ever as a hobbyist) I might actually try to turn this into a proper story someday once the save reaches conclusion. Which will probably still be quite a while from today, but I might start scribbling some notes on the side.
I have been playing the BFF household to prepare for the wedding pack. Johnny Zest moved in with them on New Year's, and he and Summer have been getting along very well. But it is Liberty and Travis who became engaged on New Year's Eve and hopefully will plan a wedding for Love Day. Meanwhile everyone has been busy trying to get promoted at work to honor their New Year's resolutions. Travis and Johnny have both managed it. Now that Johnny is a true Jokesmith will his parents admit he was right to go into Comedy?
Aaand it's time for another quick update. This may be the last one before I have to take a break from this save for a while - got some projects that need tending to! I'll be working on the story in the meantime, though. Anyway!
Shortly before Asher's birthday, Ceri managed to buy a beautiful home down in Finchwick. When she unpacked the last of her personal belongings, she found the diary that she used to write in almost daily. You may have a feeling where this is going.
Her past self mentions her apparent alien boyfriend Vraak, whom she cannot remember, of course. She's completely puzzled, but as she reads about how he distanced himself from her to keep her safe, she guesses he erased her memory or something. Luckily, she'd scribbled down his number (I swear this woman never uses her phone, lol). So she asks him to come visit, and Vraak has no choice but to resolve the matter.
He arrives a couple nights later, and Ceri shows him the diary entries to prove she isn't making stuff up. So of course, Vraak does the mature thing and... erases her memory again. He's smarter about it this time because I'm tired of him erasing all relationship progress all the time, so "he" gets rid of the diary to prevent Ceri from figuring it out again. Her phone's still on the table, so why not change his contact data to something she wouldn't call again ever. Like their other neighbour back in San Myshuno. By the time Ceri snaps out of her dizziness, dear Vraak is already gone. I guess that's the end of this arc.
But time doesn't stop for anybody, and one day, this somewhat handsome dude shows up at Ceri's doorstep. He lives in the village as well, but hasn't had a chance to introduce himself yet.
Well, they hit it off real quick. Ceri is either charming, or just tends to meet guys who are really romantic.
In fact, it doesn't take long for them to become a couple. Her new boyfriend even moves in with her.
So our girl has moved on from Vraak. Not that she remembers.

Elena's son Henry has just aged up into a teen. He practiced programming. Later he ate his supper outside because somene had set the table in there for some reason. It was cold outside, but not freezing, so it was okay.
The next morning Elena started the day playing with their cat Annie.
I heard screaming outside and it was a random lady who was playing on the leaf pile.
Henry went to school. It was his first day in high school.
Tomorrow is going to be Elena & her husband Peter's birthdays. They're both aging up into adults. Elena baked them a cake and they kept discussing about something the whole time while she was baking. Elena showed the cake to Peter and put the candles on it before she stored it in the fridge,
Elena is a writer (she doesn't work, she's self-employed), but she's also a good painter. She painted a human figure that ended up being a masterpiece. She's trying to sell it on Plopsy, but I've never managed to sell any masterpieces in there (in any of my saves). I wanted to try it anyway. She earns already a lot on book royalties and Peter is a self-employed gardener, they have enough money already, selling paintings is just some extra.
Peter went walking with their dog Nero.
Henry came home from school and Annie was waiting and welcoming him home.
He did his school project. It was a cute little robot.
Elena had a sweet moment with Nero before going to sleep.
There's going to be birthdays tomorrow. I'm not sure if I have any parties for Elena & Peter, because Elena is a loner and she doesn't have many friends. Her best friend is Gunther Munch, so I will probably just end up inviting him and maybe one guest for Peter if I decide to have a birthday party.
@chonkie I'm glad to see Ceri is finding love again. She certainly deserves it after everything that has happened to her! Great read! @Kimmer Relaxing family gameplay is a great way to unwind.
My legacy family twins, Brighe and Bella, aged up to teens today! I fed them too well as children, apparantly, because both are a little bit chunky. But you know what, I think they are still beautiful.
Meanwhile, Bryanna (one of their mom's) is just happy to get some quiet time now that the 'children' are more able to fend for themselves and less likely to make messes any time no one's looking.
