Hi everyone,
Me again! Lol I have made soooo many discussions about this topic but I have worked out that I can save enough money to afford this laptop.

Someone said that this would be great to play the Sims 3 but I'm really not keen on how it looks. I was hoping someone could direct me to a laptop of similar performance and price which looks a bit less Sci-fi!! :D

I would also like it to last me a long time since I will probably be using this laptop for at least the next 4-5 years.

EDIT: This is in the wrong category!!! Oops :#

That's a good choice for Sims 3, able to run all packs together on ultra settings with a bit of room to spare, meaning even a lot of custom content shouldn't drag down performance much if at all. (The game itself has limitations, but I'm sure you know that.) It's a good price too, about the same as other laptops with similar hardware.

Are you ready to buy now? Because there are always good options in this price range, but prices do fluctuate for a given model, sometimes dramatically. So there's not much point in picking out a specific model until you're ready to order.

If you are looking now, this is the same laptop, except with twice the storage, and £20 cheaper:

These are other laptops with the same configuration as the one you're considering, except that the second and third have a slightly stronger processor. They're all £750.

That's just one site; others will have more options in around the same price range. The point is, you should always be able to find something, but it might not be the same thing you currently have in mind. And if you don't like your options, wait a week and look again.

Thank you so much!! I'm not in a position to buy now but I did need a vague figure so I can start saving. I liked the look of the second link you posted (the Lenovo one)! I'll keep an eye out for similar things to that.

    Thanks again
    Clara

The Sims 3/4 is a life simulation video game developed by the Redwood Shores studio of Maxis and published by Electronic Arts. To play this game we need some specific kind configuration in our laptop. I am mentioning some laptop which is made only to play Sims games and i have viewed all these laptop reviews on - https://whynotreviews.com/best-laptops-to-play-sims-4/

List of top 5 Laptops to play Sims Games:-

    a) Acer Aspire 5 Slim Laptop
    b) Asus C302CA-DHM4 Chromebook Flip
    c) Dell Inspiron 15 Intel Core i3-7130U Laptop <3
    d) HP Envy X360 Touchscreen Laptop
    e) HP Pavilion HD LED Laptop

I don't like calling people out, but for anyone reading this DO NOT buy any of these laptops and expect them to run Sims 3 the way you want. The second one wouldn't run Sims 3, or Sims 4 for that matter, at all: neither game runs in Chrome OS. The others would all handle the Sims 3 base game and some early expansions on lower settings, but all of them would struggle with Pets, Seasons, Island Paradise, and Into the Future. The HP Envy would do the best of these laptops, but the game would still probably crash frequently and generally push the laptop to its limits.

The most demanding Sims 3 expansions really do require at least an entry-level dedicated graphics card to run properly, as in, without crashing, lag, graphics glitches, etc. If anyone wants to talk tech specs, the Sims 3 help section is a good place to ask; there's always someone available to give advice or evaluate a computer's specs before purchase.

@Sgtangel, it might be best to go over to the AHQ site and post this over there as this thread is for The Sims 3 Store and not The Sims 4... :)
