Herman wasn’t completely off when he cast doubt on Joey and Irene’s relationship earlier at the bar. Joey and Irene had gotten into a big argument the night before, and things were a little tense between them. She thought he was looking at another woman when they were out on a date; he says he wasn’t. When Irene comes back from the lady’s room, she decides to make up with Joey.
Irene: I’m sorry about last night. I just get jealous sometimes. Joey: It’s fine, Doll. You’re a passionate woman. That’s what I like about you. Irene: I just want us to have a good time tonight and not fight. I’m crazy about you. Joey: I’m crazy about you, too. Come over here and sit on the couch. I’ll tell you how you can make it up to me, and then tonight after we leave, I’ll show you how I can make it up to you.

Kyle grew up in Newcrest but is of Sulanesian descent. He had a happy family life growing up, and his parents instilled in him strong family values, as well as a respect for the earth and environment which is a staple of Sulanesian culture.
He has a tattoo on his arm which is the family tattoo shared by all the men in his bloodline, received once a male becomes a teen. He got it the old-fashioned (and very painful) way–with a shark tooth and mallet in a ceremony on Sulani.
He’s a very empathetic person and gets along well with others. In his romantic relationships, he’s always very attentive to the needs and emotions of his partner and is old fashioned in that he brings flowers, opens doors, etc. He also has a great sense of humor and knows how to lighten a mood with humor if things get too heavy.

While he has no aspirations of making a living as an artist, he would like to someday work in an art-related field, such as teaching art to kids, being an appraiser, or working in a gallery or museum. He would be the first person in his family to go to college.
While Kyle’s parents never had a whole lot of money when he was growing up, he never felt poor because all of the kids in his neighborhood were in the same social class. Additionally, his mom and dad taught him that material things are fleeting but what makes a person rich in life is the time they spend with the ones they love.
Kyle plays guitar as do all the men in his family, and they often all play together at family functions. Kyle likes the music his family plays, but he also has his own type of music he listens to.
Kyle’s favorite type of food is Sulanesian (just like mom makes), and he likes artsy films, something his friends don’t really understand or get into.

New Years: Traditional New Year’s Eve Arm Wrestling
Every year on New Year’s Eve, after Manny gets good and drunk but before the clock strikes midnight, Manny and Joey arm wrestle. This started in their teens (when Manny was hopped up on sugar rather than booze) and continues as a “holiday tradition” to this day.
Joey: You’re looking kind of flushed there, brother. Are you sure you don’t want to just concede this one? Manny: Prepare to be beaten, brother.
The two men struggle, and Manny wins the first round. After a few moments of rest, they get into position again.
Herman:(swaying slightly) Are they playing two out of three? Ken: No. They wrestle until they win an equal number of turns.
Even in his drunken state, Herman can tell this doesn’t make sense.
Herman: That seems pointless. Why? Ken: They say it’s so they start the new year off even. I don’t really get it either.
Irene: You can do it, honeybunch. Manny:(to Joey) You’re going down, honeybunch. Joey: Not this time.
After much effort and grimacing from both men, Joey wins the second round. The game is done.
Herman:(to Manny and Joey) What happens if only one of you keeps winning? Joey: Then the balance of the universe would be upset. Manny: And we’d know we were in for a bad year.
Herman isn’t sure if they’re joking or not.

…3…2..1…Happy New Year! Manny pulls Vivian close; she wraps her arms around him, and they kiss.
Dean wisely kisses Janay on the cheek so that things don’t get awkward with her dad hovering about.
Kyle, being the sensitive boyfriend he is, has led Martha out into the hallway just before midnight because he anticipates she might be embarrassed to kiss in front of everyone, especially his parents. He absolutely does not want to start his year off with a kiss on the cheek. They kiss with the enthusiasm of two teenagers in love.
Ken: So everyone is kissing. Jane: Yes, looks like it. Ken: So I guess we should kiss now. Jane: I guess we should.
Ken goes in for the kiss, but it’s a little bit awkward because his lips somehow end up to the side of Jane’s lips instead of on center.
He quickly readjusts and turns it from awkward to romantic. Nice save, Ken.
Herman has positioned himself next to Comfort in anticipation of getting a midnight kiss. He lurches toward her, and she backs away. She puts her hands up to try to ward him off, but he just keeps coming.

The clock strikes midnight, and Joey is just about to kiss his girl when he sees Comfort in distress and desperately trying to back away from Herman. The music is loud, so he can’t hear what she’s saying from where he is, but he can see the look of fear on her face. He races over and shoves Herman back, hard.
Joey: Back off, Herman! I told you to keep your hands to yourself. Herman: I wasn’t doin’ nothin’! All’s I wanted was a little kiss. It’s tradition! Joey: The lady told you, “No.” You’re hammered, and it’s time for you to leave. Get the heck* out of here.
Herman: I’m not drunk, I didn’t do nothin’, and I’m not goin’ nowhere. I have just as much right to be here as anybody else. I paid my membership dues.
Joey: You can leave on your own, or I can drag you downstairs and we can settle this in the parking lot. What do you want to do?
Herman: Fine, I’m leaving. But this is bull!

Love the dance pose, again I should imagine thats awkward to set up. I wish they'd slow dance in Sims4 but then they don't cuddle either. It's like the whole game suffers with the traits loner, unflirty and cheerfull when it comes to interacting. Woohoo isn't romance (yes I said it! You can get jiggy in a dumpster but you can't have sims cuddle up in bed. Nice message for kids going out right there.) Anyway, that said back to your plot. (because I may have just lost mine.) Kyle, is really cute and he's going to have to go into my game, if I ever get around to writing anything I will tag you in his pics. Don't worry about him, he'll be fine and out of the strange zone (Newcrest) It was good to see Ken's dad jokes didn't put Jane off a New Years kiss. @Bloosmoo The dance poses actually weren't too bad to set up. I kind of enjoyed deciding which pose went with which couple's personality, especially finding a sexier one for Joey and Irene.
I could not agree more that there are so many normal interactions missing from the game like slow dancing and cuddling. The woohoo animation of them getting into bed and under the covers is short and incredibly non-romantic and unaffectionate. I also really miss kids being able to play tag like they did in Sims 2.
OMG I would LOVE it if you put Kyle in your game and shared the screenshots. Or even if you just told me what he was up to from time to time.

Irene’s year did not get off to a good start. One moment she was having a blast with her charming, good looking boyfriend, and the next moment, he ran off. As in, he literally took off running just as the clock struck midnight and they were about to kiss. It was like a reverse Cinderella or something.
Irene makes her way through the crowded room to try to see where he went. She has to squeeze past several couples before she spots him. What she sees makes her very upset. Some man is yelling something at Joey on his way out the door, but that isn’t what causes a knot to form in the pit of Irene’s stomach and her blood to boil.
Irene: What the…?!!
What causes Irene to become furious is when she sees Comfort hugging Joey.
Irene:My date not only ran away from me in the middle of a kiss, but he ran straight into the arms of another woman…RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME?!
Comfort is saying something to Joey, thanking him for something, and Joey glances over and makes eye contact with Irene.
This is the moment Irene realizes Joey doesn’t love her, that he never loved her and he never will. She feels as if she has just been hit by a truck, and all the air goes out of her lungs.

While Kyle’s parents never had a whole lot of money when he was growing up, he never felt poor because all of the kids in his neighborhood were in the same social class. Additionally, his mom and dad taught him that material things are fleeting but what makes a person rich in life is the time they spend with the ones they love.
Kyle plays guitar as do all the men in his family, and they often all play together at family functions. Kyle likes the music his family plays, but he also has his own type of music he listens to.
Kyle’s favorite type of food is Sulanesian (just like mom makes), and he likes artsy films, something his friends don’t really understand or get into.

Kyle and Martha are squaring off against Joey and Aden at the foosball table. Joey owns the bowling alley, Incredibowl, where Martha works, and Aden is her manager. Ken looks on.
Kyle: Should we just let them win because they’re old?
Joey: Watch it there, kid.
Martha: No mercy in foosball, Kyle!
Ken: Hahaha, you guys are old.
Joey: You’re the same age as I am, Ken.
Ken: (suddenly doesn’t think it’s funny anymore) Oh.
Kyle and Martha win. Martha is pumped. There’s nothing quite like beating not one but two of your bosses in a game of foosball. This evening is turning out to be even more fun than she thought it would be. She’s going to have a story to tell when she goes back to work.

Manny rarely gets drunk throughout the year but always gets drunk on New Year’s Eve.
Vivian notices him having a hard time.
Vivian: Why don’t you come over to the bar and have a glass of water.
Manny: Maybe if I have some beer, the fizzies will make my stomach feel better.
Vivian: No, you’re not having a beer.
Manny: Maybe if I have a Bloody Mary, the vitamins from the tomato juice will make my stomach feel better.
Vivian: No, you’re not having a Bloody Mary. (to the bartender) Two waters, please.

Every year on New Year’s Eve, after Manny gets good and drunk but before the clock strikes midnight, Manny and Joey arm wrestle. This started in their teens (when Manny was hopped up on sugar rather than booze) and continues as a “holiday tradition” to this day.
Joey: You’re looking kind of flushed there, brother. Are you sure you don’t want to just concede this one?
Manny: Prepare to be beaten, brother.
The two men struggle, and Manny wins the first round. After a few moments of rest, they get into position again.
Herman: (swaying slightly) Are they playing two out of three?
Ken: No. They wrestle until they win an equal number of turns.
Even in his drunken state, Herman can tell this doesn’t make sense.
Herman: That seems pointless. Why?
Ken: They say it’s so they start the new year off even. I don’t really get it either.
Irene: You can do it, honeybunch.
Manny: (to Joey) You’re going down, honeybunch.
Joey: Not this time.
After much effort and grimacing from both men, Joey wins the second round. The game is done.
Herman: (to Manny and Joey) What happens if only one of you keeps winning?
Joey: Then the balance of the universe would be upset.
Manny: And we’d know we were in for a bad year.
Herman isn’t sure if they’re joking or not.

It’s almost midnight at the Bear Lodge in Newcrest on New Year’s Eve. Spirits are high, and the countdown begins…10…9…8…7…6…5…4…
…3…2..1…Happy New Year! Manny pulls Vivian close; she wraps her arms around him, and they kiss.
Dean wisely kisses Janay on the cheek so that things don’t get awkward with her dad hovering about.
Kyle, being the sensitive boyfriend he is, has led Martha out into the hallway just before midnight because he anticipates she might be embarrassed to kiss in front of everyone, especially his parents. He absolutely does not want to start his year off with a kiss on the cheek. They kiss with the enthusiasm of two teenagers in love.
Ken: So everyone is kissing.
Jane: Yes, looks like it.
Ken: So I guess we should kiss now.
Jane: I guess we should.
Ken goes in for the kiss, but it’s a little bit awkward because his lips somehow end up to the side of Jane’s lips instead of on center.
He quickly readjusts and turns it from awkward to romantic. Nice save, Ken.
Herman has positioned himself next to Comfort in anticipation of getting a midnight kiss. He lurches toward her, and she backs away. She puts her hands up to try to ward him off, but he just keeps coming.

Comfort: Stop!
The clock strikes midnight, and Joey is just about to kiss his girl when he sees Comfort in distress and desperately trying to back away from Herman. The music is loud, so he can’t hear what she’s saying from where he is, but he can see the look of fear on her face. He races over and shoves Herman back, hard.
Joey: Back off, Herman! I told you to keep your hands to yourself.
Herman: I wasn’t doin’ nothin’! All’s I wanted was a little kiss. It’s tradition!
Joey: The lady told you, “No.” You’re hammered, and it’s time for you to leave. Get the heck* out of here.
Herman: I’m not drunk, I didn’t do nothin’, and I’m not goin’ nowhere. I have just as much right to be here as anybody else. I paid my membership dues.
Joey: You can leave on your own, or I can drag you downstairs and we can settle this in the parking lot. What do you want to do?
Herman: Fine, I’m leaving. But this is bull!
Herman stomps out the door, hurling a deluge of profanities at Joey as he goes.

I could not agree more that there are so many normal interactions missing from the game like slow dancing and cuddling. The woohoo animation of them getting into bed and under the covers is short and incredibly non-romantic and unaffectionate. I also really miss kids being able to play tag like they did in Sims 2.
OMG I would LOVE it if you put Kyle in your game and shared the screenshots. Or even if you just told me what he was up to from time to time.
Hahaha about Ken's dad jokes not scaring away Jane. I'm also glad their previous awkward moment didn't spoil their romantic new years moment.
Joey is a good guy. And yes--Irene is very unhappy. There is some major drama about to go down.

Irene’s year did not get off to a good start. One moment she was having a blast with her charming, good looking boyfriend, and the next moment, he ran off. As in, he literally took off running just as the clock struck midnight and they were about to kiss. It was like a reverse Cinderella or something.
Irene makes her way through the crowded room to try to see where he went. She has to squeeze past several couples before she spots him. What she sees makes her very upset. Some man is yelling something at Joey on his way out the door, but that isn’t what causes a knot to form in the pit of Irene’s stomach and her blood to boil.
Irene: What the…?!!
What causes Irene to become furious is when she sees Comfort hugging Joey.
Irene: My date not only ran away from me in the middle of a kiss, but he ran straight into the arms of another woman…RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME?!
Comfort is saying something to Joey, thanking him for something, and Joey glances over and makes eye contact with Irene.
This is the moment Irene realizes Joey doesn’t love her, that he never loved her and he never will. She feels as if she has just been hit by a truck, and all the air goes out of her lungs.

Irene is having a meltdown after Joey sprinted away from her right before they were going to kiss at midnight and she found him talking to Comfort as if nothing was wrong. She makes a beeline for the two of them. Joey says something to Comfort in a low voice, and Comfort walks away. Irene is upon Joey now, and she’s in a rage.
Irene: You cad! You low down, dirty cad!
Joey: What did I do?
Irene: You left me standing there looking like a fool in front of everyone so you could…could…what? Make out with another woman?!
Joey: We weren’t making out. It was just a hug, Doll. Herman was trying to kiss her, and I had to step in and…
Irene: Oh yeah, Comfort almost got kissed on New Year’s Eve. That sounds like a real emergency.
Joey: It’s not like that, Doll.
Irene: Don’t you “Doll” me! I’m not a doll, I’m a woman. A woman who needs a man who will treat her right.
Joey: Look, I’m not the bad guy here. I was doing the right thing. I don’t understand why you’re so upset, Dah…Irene.
Irene: Just tell me, right now, honestly, if you love me. Or if you don’t. Just tell me you love me, and we can work all of this out.
Joey: (pauses for a moment) You’re a beautiful, intelligent, and kind woman. What’s not to love? You’re upset. Let’s go back to my place and talk about it. What do you say?
All the steam goes out of Irene’s anger, and her shoulders slump.
Irene: (quietly) That’s not an answer. Just take me home. I want to go home.
Joey: (sighs) If that’s what you want.
Irene: It’s what I want.
Joey holds the door open for Irene, and the two of them leave.

I miss tag and marco polo in my game too, oo and that kids interaction where they danced on the adults feet with them. Such a shame they weren't carried over. Still we got multitasking and that's what ruins the others for me a bit....(so shallow I know lol)
