Sorry to go slightly off topic here but the curiosity is too great. Who is the Unsavoury Charlatan? (A lot of the characters in the Favourite Characters list I have never come across in my game so it was a bit difficult to answer this one).

I'd really like them to sort of bring back the extra skill achievement things that were in the sims 3. I'm not entirely sure what they were called. It's been a while since I played that game. XD But completing them unlocked extra perks for that skill. Eg. For the writing skill you'd never write a bad novel or something. Again, it's been a while but I remember it was fun to try and complete them all.

But I'm keen for any kind of resort world which is what this survey seemed to be leaning towards. Island life was easily my favorite sims 3 expansion next to world adventures. Which seriously, let's have a pack similar to world adventures. Jungle Adventures was ok but not enough to scratch that itch. Lol. More holiday destinations for sure. ^_^b

He was a pickpocket in TS2, I think, maybe TS1. It was a long time ago so I don't quite remember.

I’m curious to know what brand collabs you guys wrote in? I chose the KKW brand because of Kim’s most recent house tour her bathroom is amazing lmao everything is chic and modern and minimalistic

    I left it blank.

I can't recall the exact specifics of it, but I remember something about it at the time after GTW came out.

Oh that's interesting. I didn't know about that. Thanks for replying.

Hopefully once they decide on which packs to update we'll get another survey asking for suggestions.

put alot of emphasis on improving the sims interactions over all, all sims feel far to similar to eachother.
i even made a thread complaining about it around the same time the survey came out

so they clearly want more feedback, hopefully personalities get the changes we need

Oh okay. I didn't realise some of the list were characters from older games. Otherwise I would have picked the Curious Brothers from Sims 2.

What did you pick for collaboration with other brands?

I feel this was a very interesting question, as it can be interpretated in so many ways.. For ex the old collabs with sims 2 & ikea stuff & H&M..

But in some games there's a trend going around for collabing each other's game.. I had a really cool experience with Monster Hunter World when they collaberated with 'the witcher' & Geralt 'fell into the monsterhunter world game' and you had to bring him back to his own world.

What 'brands' did you pick? :D

Really? If I knew this - I would have picked him as well :C
But it was a hard choice in general... I mainly have nostalgic feelings to the Bella goth x Don Lothario x Caliente family .

But in Sims 4 I also learned to appreciate the new Bailey-Moon family (no particular reason) So I added multiple people in 'other' section XD

That was the main feedback I gave was that you can pretty get al Sims to interact together regardless of their likes and dislikes, it doesn't seem to matter whether Sims have anything in common or not, and it should do. I want relationship progress throughout the game, and other Sims interacting together. My Sim got together with a young adult game generated Sim and when they married and moved in together he had no friends and a barista job. I know he was a loner, but surely he'd have some friends. There's so many parts that are just not realistic in regards to families, relationships, jobs etc

That's a good point too - in 1 way I would suggest... Sims 1, for it's original humor.. But I fileld in many things that could also bring in some fun.. But it would be definitly commercialized and I didn't think of that...

But with the trends going on in current time, I think at the same time it's kind of inevitable.

This isn't really a new trend for them. They've been doing brand collaborations since 2. If you really wanted to stretch it, even the celebrity cameos of Drew Carey and the like in 1 could be seen as a form of collaboration. Although I think it's interesting they want out input for the next one. Even 2's brand packs were mocked, if I remember right, so maybe they're hoping if they ask us what we want they'll be better received.

I think I voted "Very Interested" in everything. After recently getting the Sims 2, I am amazed at just how complex (and realistic) Sim interpersonal relationships are. Get to Work could use more "active" careers, such as those from TS3:Ambitions--I feel since we have law enforcement as a career, firefighting (from TS3) and EMS (TS2, base-level medical level, but could be split off, or even part of the firefighting or medical careers as a branch) should be added. Ghost hunting would be pretty cool, though I've never messed with it yet in TS3.

Oh, and a winter resort-themed EP sounds really, really cool.

Hard not to put a 10 for all of the relationship questions! TS4 absolutely needs more work on relationships and personalities - I would LOVE to see more traits and aspirations, personally I don't think there are enough right now and the recent ones are quite pack-specific. I'd like to see more "negative" traits that also affect gameplay; I have Gloomy and Hot-headed sims who are still happy 90% of the time.

CAS tweaks: "lock" things like makeup/hair, save your own outfits, more traits/trait slots/aspirations

The packs I put which need improvement:
    • Get to Work: more active careers/improve the current ones
    • Get Famous: singer career/bands, quirks like "Emotion Bomb" are too easy to obtain, Del Sol Valley needs tweaking, some celebrity annoyances need to be dealt with like DJs stopping their music when a celeb starts dancing
    • Dine Out: sims still have to wait ages to get meals, ability to split bill/have sim invited you pay, it'd be nice if restaurants you didn't own had cooks who can make food above Normal quality

The resort pack doesn't interest me personally but the ideas put out were cool.

I'd love to see some additional party types! For example: baby shower, movie night, sleepover for kids. Maybe even a "coming out" type thing when a sim becomes a vampire!

One of the things I did mention was that Get to Work needs improvment. Not just improvement, but a total overhaul. More careers definitely could be added to increase variety.

But, how could it be done? Given the game has a "T" rating , that runs results into runs into a few issues due to rating classification.

Severe trauma, realistic surgery, and the like that hospitals deal with on a regular basis are nearly impossible due to gore restrictions. At least some of the diseases could be improved, and hospital staff AI and behaviors need overhaul as well. Personally, I find the surgery machine silly and unrealistic.

And I feel most of the things most police procedurals deal with on television is definitely unfit for the target audience, and even watching them as a teen, NCIS really resulted in some weird dreams. At least use crimes that I have at least half of an idea what was going on! Thefts seem to be what I guess they are, but I wish more crime types were included.

I feel that the scientific career definitely needs improvement, and definitely more in the forms of scientific research today. Seems pretty watered down and uncomplicated to me. During my first save, after I got GTW, I put my usual Sim into the scientific career but eventually switched him over to engineering after Discover University came out.

I would like to be able to visit the hospital when my sims get sick. It would also be cool to have to stay overnight because of a severe illness. For the detective career I’d like to actually chase down burglars and robbers, because right now they’re useless. I don’t really play the scientist career so I have no updates for that. But maybe a better alien world would be great, the ability to live there and such. More than one lot would be cool too.

If they could completely overhaul personalities and add more consequences, i could love this game
The Sims has currently lost its identity. Bring it back for TS5

With the question on brands I answered that I'd prefer a pack that focused on sustainability and introduced vintage items, 1960s/1970s/1980s clothing and homeware, I would much prefer to see that over a collaboration with a brand.

As someone with little to no interest in the 'gameplay' aspect of the game, not sure my answers will be that useful. But please...please... don't forget builders

So excited about this new survey! If the topics in the survey come to life, I can see some major improvements in the game coming our way.

I love the idea of NPC sims being able to initiate more interactions, especially romantic ones. I think it will add some much life and realism to the game.

The winter getaway and being able to go to and run resorts sounds awesome. I just hope that if we get resorts that they will be playable in Sulani and other worlds as well.

In terms of more lot types - that's great - but combined venues are also a needed addition. So many amazing builds on the gallery of combined lot types, but they don't function as such because you can only designate it as one lot type. We need to be able to create zones within a build so they function as multiple lot types at once.

Personality development is way overdue. Can't wait to see what they do with that. I really love the idea I keep seeing on forums about implementing sliders or personality points for basic traits.

One note on relationships. I'm really looking forward to some of the changes they are asking about, but PLEASE also change the sorting of relationships or add more options. I need a function where they will sort from highest to lowest and vice versa. The relationships being sorted by most recent interactions is helpful at times, but largely just a huge pain! I want to be able to click on the relationship panel and immediately see the sims with whom my sim has the closest relationships.

Glad they are also considering updating and improving on existing EPs and GPs. Some great ideas on the forums for these as well.

My top pick - Get Famous needs a singer career, and possibly also a modelling career added. Don't get me wrong, I love the acting career in Get Famous, but Sims 1 Superstar was one of my favourite packs and having the singer and model careers missing from Get Famous was disappointing. Especially the singer career - yes we have the entertainer career, and yes, we can write and produce our own music for royalties, but nothing currently simulates being a pop or rock star and we need that! I loved going into the recording studio in Sims 1 and doing concerts in Sims 3 Showtime was great! Right now, pretending that when my 'singer' sims go to perform at the karaoke contest that it is really them putting on a show just isn't cutting it! With Moschino, adding the modelling career should be fairly easy too... They would just have to do some tweaking to fashion photographer to approach it from the other perspective, and then add the runway item from Sims 1. And I don't know if the maps can be updated, but another lot or two in Mirage Park and the Pinnacles would be nice!

I also think Get To Work could use some tweaking... Even just your sims being able to get sick and have to go to the hospital themselves for treatment would be a massive step in the right direction and add another level of realism to the game. Other careers would be great too, like firefighter from Ambitions, but at the very least, let me visit the lots without having to work at them and add some gameplay features through that... If the producers edit the Magnolia Promenade map to show those lots, we can visit them easily and we wouldn't have to use the freebuild cheat to edit and personalize those builds.

For GPs, a couple minor ideas (some that have already been expressed on forums) -

Dine Out - Let our sims do any job in the restaurant - be the host, be the waiter, be the chef! It seems crazy that my celebrity chef sim opens a restaurant and can't cook any of the food and then is stuck paying to train an incompetent townie sim to become an adequate chef. Or if I have a family business of a restaurant, why can't my teen sims help out by being the servers or hosts!?!

Parenthood - This pack lends itself perfectly to the home daycare active career from Sims 3.
