Broken Mod or Glitch?

I'm not sure what is going on but...
I used to be able to alter the disguise of my alien-spellcaster toddlers/children. Now I cannot. I am unsure if it was an update, a glitch, or some random bad mod.
Anyone else have this issue? What do you think it is?
I removed my mods to check but that crashed the game. LOL. I read that people are having glitchy issues with hybrid children and I just don't know what is up.
UPDATE: Was indeed the hybrid-ization of my kids following the November update. I removed the spellcaster trait and BadaBing! Problem solved.
