Nick was finding it hard to get over Humara. He could just not believe that she would have behaved the way that she had but inside he knew that he should have seen it coming. It was now time to face reality and hopefully move forwards. He hated his work placement and the people that he worked with and he was not even sure that he wanted to go back to college as he knew that Humara was there but there were a few people that he got along with.
In the canteen Nick met a couple of other people that he knew and where some of the few that he was actually talking to. The last time he had seen anyone was at the party around Cassie's where Humara had got into bed with Taz much to Nick's dismay. Also at the party was Gareth, Darwin, Sarah and Michelle and Nick joined them in the canteen.
'So have you recovered from that party?' Darwin asked Nick.
'That was not the best party that I have been to,' replied Nick glumly.
'There was a lot of weird stuff going on there,' said Sarah.
'Too many people woohooing,' added Gareth still not knowing the situation between Nick and Humara.
'Have you spoke to anyone since?' Nick asked.
'We have not seen them,' replied Gareth 'I have been busy with other stuff,'
'We are planning on going to a protest this weekend,' added Darwin.
'What about?' asked Nick.
'To protest against the government,' replied Sarah 'the Leader of the free world has closed down parliament again,'
'Where is this protest?' asked Nick.
'It is in this area,' replied Gareth 'there are protests all over the country but we have one here as well,'
'You can join us if you want?' suggested Michelle 'we need as many people to come as possible.
'All you have to do is be against the government,' added Darwin 'they are taking things too far now and it is almost like it is becoming a dictatorship.
'Well I don't think much of them,' said Nick.
'We have found out a lot of things that they are doing to this country,' said Darwin 'you would be surprised at how corrupt they really are,'
Nick decided to join the group for a future protest as he felt that he needed to focus on something else. Seeing Humara around was awkward. She would completely ignore him and pretend that nothing had happened but he still missed her. He would spend his time with Darwin and Gareth as they seemed to be level headed and he shared some of the same views as them.
'We are meeting up this Saturday at a bar if you are interested?' Gareth asked Nick after college.
'I would be up for that,' replied Nick. He still had his work placement on Saturdays but he was still looking for ways to leave it.
'I will try to leave my placement,' Nick said 'I have really had enough of it now,'
'That is down to the government,' said Gareth. 'They are trying to use you to fulfil basic jobs,'
Nick thought about it and maybe Gareth was right. Perhaps this was just a government scheme to take advantage of the venerable.
By Saturday Nick had decided to phone into his placement sick and instead made his way to a bar where he was going to meet the group. He was sick and tired of being held up by things and he just wanted to go out and enjoy himself. The bar that he went to was a place simply called 'The Lounge' and it was one of those shabby chic type bars. Inside he met the group which consisted of Gareth, Darwin, Warren, Michelle, Sarah and one of Sarah's friends called Laura.
'Well lets plan this then,' said Gareth as soon as Nick sat down.
'On Monday the protest starts at three in the afternoon. We will be at college then but I spoke to Sue and she said that we can go to it as it is a good cause,'
'I like Sue because she is an east winger like us!' added Sarah.
'Shame I will be at my placement,' said Nick.
'Ask Sue if you can take the day off?' suggested Sarah 'Sue wouldn't mind would she?'
'Well I won't be able to talk to her before Monday,' replied Nick.
'We will think of something,' said Gareth 'but if we can get into the city centre at the start we can all enjoy it,'
'Any rules?' added Warren.
'Yes,' replied Gareth 'no violence, no swearing in front of the press and do not be goaded by those who support the opposition,'
The group continued to make their plan for the protest and then after a couple of drinks they decided to head to another bar. The bar they ended up going to was one that Nick had been to before with Humara. She was seeing Simon at the time and as Simon was at work Nick had taken the chance to try and get to know her more. He regretted that now and once they arrived at the bar Nick would see Simon in there with his new girlfriend Tammy and a few others from the course.
@king_of_simcity7 Interesting group of students that have joined up. A little bit more interested in local politics I see.
lol at Nick wanting to get out of work. He still hasn't changed much.
BTW, I do love the picture of Simon and Tammy's happy ending.

The new students where 'there from the start' but I only mentioned them later in order to add them in. Michelle is in theory one of the last to be created and only gained her appearance during the final parts of the last series.

After the dramas with Humara the group had split but Gareth's group seemed to remain on good terms with everyone. Also with Simon and Tammy was Jamie and Megan, another new couple and Ben, Dorley, Brett, Stacy, Hana, Shelly and Courtney.
Sarah and Michelle got into a conversation with some of the girls and told them of their plans for the following week but Nick chose to stay away from Simon as it felt awkward. Simon clearly knew that Humara had done to Nick what she had done to him and Nick now knew that he had been a fool for chasing after her. He was envious that Simon was now with Tammy who was a much nicer girl and they chose to stay at their own table.
'Are you interested in coming to a protest with us on Monday?' Sarah asked Hana.
'Not really, I do not support The Messiah,' replied Hana.
'Really?' replied Sarah 'he is awesome!'
'Okay,' replied Hana bluntly as she walked off.
Sarah instead managed to get more interest out of Shelly.
'If you want to come with us we get to leave college early,' encouraged Sarah.
'It might be worth joining,' said Shelly. Standing next to her was Brett who was on a different course and had met Shelly through Simon and was interested in her but was not yet sure how to make a move.
'The more people who join us the better,' said Gareth.
'I have never been to a protest before,' said Shelly 'we won't get into trouble will we?'
'No, it is all part of democracy and to have our voices heard,' explained Gareth 'we are trying to do this for the young people of this country,'
'I have always been interested in stuff like that,' said Shelly.
'I think that you would really enjoy it,' added Gareth 'afterwards we will all go for a drink,'
Shelly and Gareth continued to talk for a while Brett looked on feeling disappointed. He hadn't spoke to Gareth before but he felt somewhat threatened. Did he now have some competition on his hands?
Brett was worried about Shelly being involved with Gareth. There was something about him that he did not like. He came across as slightly pushy and Brett would rather that Shelly was not so keen on going to the protest with him. Even though Brett did not know Shelly that well he really wanted to get to know her more. He would feel excited whenever he saw her around but he wondered if she would ever feel the same way about him.
Shelly seemed different to other girls that Brett knew. She looked delicate and she seemed nice to talk to. He tried to think of ways for him to get her attention and so far things would go to plan. He got along well with Simon so could be invited to nights out when he knew that Shelly was there but Gareth seemed to be suspicious.
On Monday the group where excited about going to the protest and after college they all got the bus together to go into town. Once in the town centre they met one of Gareth's friends named Anta who had some signs for them.
'Okay, everyone, this is Anta,' said Gareth as he introduced everyone to him.
'Right, I have got a few signs,' said Anta 'just take one and follow me towards the crowd near the town hall,'
The town centre was busy with protesters holding signs and wearing T-shirts. There was a sense of excitement amongst the crowd but there were a few police around keeping an eye on things. The group followed Anta along the side street into the crowd and joined the march. There was soon hundreds of people all marching along demanding that parliament is reopened after a recent prorogue. Eventually the group reached the city hall and outside was The Messiah who addressed the crowd demanding more democracy. The crowd cheered along and waved banners as the news crew captured the footage.
In the crowd however where a few counter protesters and it was not long until an argument had broken out and someone had been pushed which resulted in the police intervening and someone ending up throwing something at some of the police.
'What is going on?' asked Gareth as he looked towards what was happening.
'The corrupt police have arrested one of our guys!' exclaimed Anta 'come on lets help them out,'
'Come on let's go!' agreed Gareth as the group followed him closer to the scene as Anta picked up a sign that he saw on the ground and threw it towards the police. Two officers saw him and made their way towards him and Anta ran from the scene.
'Come on let's get out of here!' said Gareth as he followed Anta and the group split off.
Gareth followed Anta with Shelly, Warren, Nick, Michelle and Laura while Darwin ran off with Sarah. They wondered if they were really being pursued by the police but there was something exciting about the chase and they had soon disappeared into the crowd.
Anta eventually reached an alleyway and felt more relaxed now that he knew that the police had lost him.
'That was a good chase!' he laughed 'typical of someone to try and spoil the protest though,'
'We got away lucky,' said Gareth 'maybe we had best keep our heads down for a bit?'
'There is a pub just down the road from here,' said Anta 'we could hide out in there for a bit,'
'We need to know where Sarah and Darwin have gone,' said Michelle feeling worried.
'I will give her a call,' said Laura.
Darwin and Sarah had ended up in a different direction and had stumbled across a warehouse building in a back street but had been spooked as they had heard a siren near them.
'Is this empty?' said Darwin referring to the building.
'I don't know,' said Sarah 'it looks like it though,'
'At least no one got arrested,' said Sarah.
'Well we did not do anything wrong,' said Darwin.
'Well not us,' added Sarah 'it was Anta but I wouldn't worry about him, he is just a true anarchist. Had he been caught he would have not let anyone else go down with him,'
'Have you done this before?' Darwin asked her.
'Once or twice,' said Sarah 'I enjoy it though, it is fun feeling like you are part of something,'
'I would do it again,' agreed Darwin.
They both spent the next half an hour hiding out together behind the warehouse and started to get to know each other more. Darwin now started to feel that he had liked Sarah and was enjoying being by himself with her. It had felt like some sort of adventure.
The next day the group where back at college and where excited about the events of the previous day. Their tutor Jean was not impressed however. She had questioned why the other tutor Sue had allowed students early to take part in a protest which might have put them in danger. Some of the other students were not impressed either. Hana did not support The Messiah and was going out that evening with her parents to campaign for The Lion. She had invited Stacy along with her but they were nervous about telling anyone else.
During the morning break they sat with Shelly and a few others in the canteen and made plans for a night out the following week for Courtney's birthday.
'Are you coming out for Courtney's birthday?' Stacy asked Shelly.
'Yes I am still up for it,' replied Shelly.
Also sitting at their table was Brett and Ben who had also been invited to the party. Brett had hoped that maybe this could be the weekend that something could happen between him and Shelly. Ben was also starting to like Courtney and had hoped that maybe he could get to know her better.
Shelly went up to the food counter to get something to eat and she saw Gareth and Darwin there with Nick, Sarah and Michelle.
'We might be doing something next weekend if you want?' Gareth asked her.
'What day?' asked Shelly 'as I am going out on Friday,'
'Not sure what day yet,' replied Sarah 'we could do Saturday instead if you want?'
'I cannot do either day,' said Michelle 'I will be with my sister as she has been having a hard time lately and my parents want me to stay at home with her while they are out,'
'I will be at my placement,' said Nick glumly.
'It doesn't have to be much,' said Gareth 'just a few drinks maybe?'
'Well I could let you know near the time?' agreed Shelly.
Glad to see Darwin and Sarah did not get caught either.
The classroom is certainly getting full with students!

When Shelly got back to the table Stacy asked her what the other group had said to her as Stacy was suspicious of them trying to get Shelly into their political movement.
'They just invited me out at the weekend,' replied Shelly 'but I told them that I am out with you lot on Friday so I will meet them another night,'
Brett felt worried. He was hoping that if Shelly could come out with them then he could make a move in his own time without having to be too pushy but now he felt that he had competition with Gareth. He saw how Gareth looked at Shelly and it made him worried.
'Do you think that Shelly would meet us?' Darwin asked Gareth once Sarah and Michelle started talking to some other girls from their course and while Nick was talking to Brenda who worked in the kitchen.
'She might do,' replied Gareth 'not sure why she is hanging out with that lot though,'
'We could get her with our group,' added Darwin 'it might be like a double date if it is just me, you, Shelly and Sarah?'
'It might work out,' said Gareth 'are you interested in Sarah?'
'I might be,' added Darwin not wanting to give much away 'but we have been getting along well lately,'
'Not sure who that Brett guy is though,' said Gareth looking into the canteen 'he always seems to be following Shelly around,'
'You might have to compete with him,' said Darwin.
'I will consider it a challenge,' said Gareth.
He liked Shelly but did not feel keen on Brett hanging out with her. Brett was on a different course and had the tendency to just appear and follow the group around. Gareth was starting to dislike it. It had been a while since he had a girlfriend and the last relationship had not ended that well. This time he was hoping for someone who he could click with and Shelly seemed to be his type.
After the morning break had ended the group went back to their classes and Courtney noticed someone outside who did not go to the college but he was someone that she had history with. It was her ex boyfriend Taz.
It's gonna take a while for Nick to recover from this huh?
I see everyone is getting back into politics again.
You're a fan of the "dove tail" hair (On Gareth) aren't ya?
1 - Nick owes Simon one heck of an apology!
2 - If Nick even THINKS about making a move on Tammy and trying to steal her from Simon, he is one of the most terrible guys of ALL time!
(Please don't make that happen... *gives puppy dog eyes* )
Oh Brett, don't be jealous of Gareth. He's in love with politics, not women.
Shelly is a pretty sim.
So I guess closing up Parliament is like a Government Shut Down in America...

My guess is Darwin and Sarah are gonna make out in the old abandoned warehouse!

It's nice how you switch the focus to your many different characters and what's going on in their lives. I like that.

Courtney was surprised to see Taz but she had seen him around the college a few times. He had friends on a few other courses but for some reason he seemed interested in talking to her.
'What are you up to?' he asked Courtney casually. She was just going to walk past him but this was the first time that he had spoke to her in a while.
'I am off to my next lesson,' replied Courtney nervously.
'You on that life skills course of something?' asked Taz.
'Yes, the same one as a few other people that you know,' replied Courtney referring to Humara, Anna, Cassie and Leanda who Taz often seemed to hang out with.
'Fair enough,' replied Taz 'how is things anyway?'
Courtney was annoyed. Why was Taz so interested in talking now?
'Things are okay I guess,' replied Courtney.
'It is your birthday soon isn't it?' Taz asked her.
'Yes, it is next Sunday,' replied Courtney.
'Are you going out for it?' Taz asked.
'I am on the Friday,' replied Courtney 'not everyone can make Saturday and I don't want to be hungover on my birthday,'
'Good plan!' agreed Taz 'I remember our nights out,'
'Yes,' replied Courtney remembering how when she was with Taz he would often invite her out with his friends and then end up ignoring her for a few hours.
'We had some good nights out didn't we?' added Taz.
'Yes, sometimes,' replied Courtney.
'Well I will give you a text or something,' replied Taz 'It is nice seeing you again,'
Poor Courtney.
I felt uncomfortable just reading that exchange between the two.
Taz is creepy...it's like he wants one more night with her or something.
(I guess it's safe to say he has Humara fooled that they are both in love with each other....
After college had finished for the day Stacy went back to Hana's house so they could get ready to go out campaigning with The Lion and Mr Posh. The Lion is the leader of the free world and would visit other people in the area to encourage people to vote for him. They would knock on a few doors and talk to people. Reactions would be mixed but most people would be respectful.
After a while of walking around they came to a housing estate and decided to see if they could try their luck.
'Would people round here even vote for you?' Stacy asked.
'It is worth a try,' said The Lion.
They knocked on a couple of doors and where pleasantly surprised that some people that they spoke to seemed to also be keen on voting for him while others simply stated that they were not interested. They then came to one untidy looking house with a battered car in the front garden and loud music blaring upstairs.
'I wonder if these people would vote for me?' The Lion said.
'I think that we should try it,' Mr Posh suggested.
They knocked on the door and a woman answered and her reaction was not friendly.
Part 5B
Hana and Stacy followed Hana The Lion and Mr Posh away and felt taken back about what they had just seen. They looked behind them to see that the woman was still standing at the front door staring at them.
'I guess that she supports The Messiah?' said Hana.
'No idea,' said The Lion 'It is a shame as most people around here would be decent,'
'Why was she so angry about her benefits being taken away?' asked Stacy.
'Because some people don't want to work,' said Hana.
'She didn't have to be so rude though,' said Stacy.
'We don't need her,' replied Hana 'most other people we have spoke to seem to be more supportive,'
What Hana and Stacy did not realise however was upstairs in the house was Cassie from their course who was friends with the woman's daughter named Bianca and they had watched the whole thing.
'Are those two girls the ones from your course?' Bianca asked Cassie.
'Yeah, Hana and Stacy,' replied Cassie.
'They support the The Lion?'
'I guess so,' said Cassie 'they are both stuck up anyway,'
Anyhoo!
Does the Lion have some security guards with him while he campaigns door to door?
This reminds me of the different kind of reception Mormon missionaries get.

@king_of_simcity7 Taz is just creepy. I see him hanging out at the college looking for more girls to win over and then dump. I think he gets his jolly's racking up conquests.

By Friday night Courtney was excited about her birthday night out. Her friend Jasmine had come to stay with her and she had invited a few of the girls from college over to get ready before they got ready to go to met the guys in town.
The girls that she had invited where Shelly, Stacy, Hana, Tammy and Megan while the guys where Simon, Jamie, Ben, Brett and Dorley. She had been getting a couple of texts from Taz although she was still not impressed with him popping up out of nowhere to start talking to her again. Taz had previously been involved with Humara but he had since gone off her but as Humara had also been involved with some of the other guys on the course such as Simon and Nick there was suspicions about the situation.
Meanwhile Shelly had also been getting texts from Gareth who was trying to set himself up with her and was planning a double date including Darwin and Sarah. Gareth was suspicious about Brett who he saw as an outsider and he did not like the idea of Shelly hanging out with Hana who he knew as a Tory support. Luckily for him Shelly had agreed to meet the next day but he was worried that if Shelly was hungover from the party then she might cancel.
