    Magical items in the mail?

    My sim received a broom, a familiar orb, and a metal in the mailbox. No notification as to who sent it or why it was there. Is this a new feature with spellcasters or? What triggers these gifts?

      Levelling up to level 2 or 3 triggers a ‘starter pack’ from the magical world.

      If you played The Sims Makin' Magic, the Mystery Man appeared on your lot with box that contained a wand, a spell book, Toadification ingredients. a wand charger, 35 magic coins and a Hole In The Ground for direct access to Magic Town. S4's version is not as grand but it serves a purpose.
