Aussie here, so not well versed on this topic, but native content sounds gorgeous. All the beautiful patterns, the dream catchers and totems like in Brother Bear! I really don't know much about Native Americans, but it would be gorgeous, if they consulted some of the major tribes or groups they want to use items from.
Maybe leave out objects that will be used in the 'wrong way' like headdresses, and maybe some sacred items, and primarily do clothing, maybe a hairstyle, a hat, the bolo ties I've heard about on Parks and Recreation and maybe some clutter type objects, and even crystals or some kind of stones that could be used in RoM.
Well as the developers are working on representation and skintones, I hope they can add things for Native American/First Nations representation too. Like hairs for instance.
I think things that are sacred shouldn’t be added to the game, as you can’t be sure they’ll be used respectfully and appropriately, but there must be some things they could add.

Some of the foods, hairstyles and clothing I'm sure would be fine. Totally agree with the sacred aspects being left out. I'd appreciate some more options for First Nations though for sure.
I so want Natives in Sims 4. I've always loved the variety of Native North American since I first learned about it back in Social Studies.
I've always been a fan of Dances With Wolves, Pocahontas & Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman.
Then in 1999, I found out that my daughter & I were part Prairie Cree from my Father's Mother. And then it all made sense why both my Father & I were so drawn to the Native Culture.
I am not American but a typical European but I just fear to use such content that could be offensive especially in cultures the world barely or do not know about. I got the ts3 set but I fear of using the content I only use the pottery , the lamps, the dreamcatcher, and the wall drape as deco the less offensive items I swear to use for non Native American sims maybe?
How many cultures can fit into this tiny game? We would need a much bigger game to fit everything people want. Wouldn't you need a village? You wouldn't have just one person or two.

On one hand, trouble is the community is kinda offensed for every little details , that make the share of the sims very not pleasant no more and they think the Sims is only for them and if we add a cultural reference this is always wrong. Nope a lot of people are not from this or that culture and that's why we offense them. They really want apartheid !
But in the other hand Native Americans are Americans and that's not normal they aren't in the game that is a caricature of the US society, the Native American are US Citizens they should be included. (and not be caricatured just being there)
This is exactly the sort of thing I've been hoping for for too long now. We're like NEVER represented without it being either stereotyped/racist or a degrading mascot. We voice our hurt over those things and we're told to shut up and we're too sensitive. Nothing sacred should be even allowed or hinted at in representation in this, but casual dress inspired, decor, or other things would be great. My Sim is Cheyanne and I have such a hard time finding anything Native related for his house. I did find a few cool cc things as well as a few cc of western decor. My bff even made a few pictures for his wall. Still, I shouldn't have to rely on cc for this...if they're going to try and represent many people, they need to think about MY people for a change. No one ever does and it's truly heartbreaking.
I created a Native Family (Sioux) that I posted on the gallery. I looked for Sioux firstnames, tried to avoid any stereotypes (they wear braids, that's not a stereotype, is it ?) in the description, I explained I tried to make them as respectfully as possible, and to let me know if there was anything I could improve. No one commented, I had few downloads. If someone tells me they find my sims offensive, I'll say "sorry, it's exactly what I wanted to avoid" and remove them from the Gallery, as I don't want my content to offend anyone.
People shouldn't tell you you're too sensitive, they should say "if it's offensive, I won't do it".

guys, while i would love to see native american content on the game, just look at what happened with the winter japanese pack. now koreans are bashing it because they say some features in it are offensive allusions regarding their past.
unless devs research it very, very well i think they should stop adding real life cultures & diversity to the sims.
What a good suggestion, I would very much like this in my game, all that has been mentioned, but especially stories, perhaps included in the group story interaction, and fleshed out. And doing research and collaborations is not difficult and of course expected.
I am personally from a Pacific islander/Alaskan native heritage background and I would love some representation as well. I currently try searching either through game, and just cc in general am cannot find any cc that represents my ethnic background which I find very saddening.
I still would love the Native North American Culture in Sims 4. As a part Prairie Cree & a big fan of all Native Tribes it would be so cool to able to properly have my Pocahontas sim & my Prairie Cree sim dress in Native outfits & have Native objects & build modes in the game.
This can end up being tricky to do. Maxis will have to find a way to portray native americans while also not stereotyping them. That being said, I'm all for it.

Yes I would love this! Maybe even have a small holiday world to visit. Some worlds only have 5 lots so it’s possible. Perhaps one lot could be a museum so you can learn about the tribes.
Having the outfits and build objects would be great! 😀🎉

That's really interesting. Although I don't know a lot about the culture myself, I am interested in it and would like to learn more. I'd personally enjoy this in the Sims but it would have to be done carefully and respectfully.
Maybe an "inspired by Native American Culture" pack, similar to how Island Living is inspired by Hawaiian and other cultures.

SO MANY games set in the US totally ignore that Indigenous people even exist, it would be great to finally see some representation.

As long as it’s done with respect.
