Anyone know a cheat to age up a sim that isn't done in CAS?

I would like to know if anyone here knows a cheat to force a sim to age up in Sims 4 WITHOUT using cas.fulleditmode and just doing it in CAS. I know one like this exists, or at least used to exist, because I found a comment on the forums here before with the age up cheat and it worked in my game (I tried this around the time Cats and Dogs released). But I didn't think to save that in my bookmarks, and I can't find the thread I found it on either, and I could really use it for my legacy family because I need to force my elder couple to die of old age.

I have 2 elders that have both the active and long-lived traits (second one is from completing the body builder aspiration) and these traits together are OP. Their grandchild is about to become a young adult and if they don't croak soon she won't be able to get married or have children of her own (I don't split up the household in my legacy, my sims are either all in the same household or they're burried in the back yard).

I don't want to force them to woohoo to death or anything unnatural, I just want them to have a peaceful old age death. But they refuse to die!

I couldn't find a cheat to make them die, but there is a cheat to make them ghosts: traits.equip_trait oldage

I believe this is what you were asking for. Anyways, if you have the mod MCCC installed, you can make them actually die of old age that way.

I had this same problem and came on here asking about it. I had an elder sim who wouldn't die no matter what I tried. lol.
What ended up working, and I've done it a few times since, was just changing the lifespan to short until they died (I normally have it on normal). Most Sims I've done it with have died within a day or two. One died the same day.

Changing the lifespan would shorten my other sims lives too, though, and their age bar has been sparkling for a week now so I worry that doing that would just shorten my other family members' lives way too much and the elders would still refuse to die. I also don't use MCCC, and I don't want to just poof them into a ghost either. I like taking screenshots of everything that happens, and just having it go "poof you're a ghost now" is unsatisfying to me.

I'm mostly just frustrated because I've done this before. I've used an age up cheat to force an elder into dying of old age on a save file I didn't care about as much. I just wanted to ask if anyone here remembers what that cheat is, or if it was broken in an update and removed.

Thanks for the suggestions, though! I appreciate you coming here to comment~

I don't know of any cheat, but if you're not opposed to mods, MCCC allows you to change their ages without going into CAS. You can also target a Sim to have them die, if you wish. (I have only used this twice, but that's because I was playing my ancestral game save, and my sixth great-grandmother's dad died in 1770, and my sixth great-grandfather's mother died in 1773 before the family left Virginia. To this day we don't know exactly when Joannah left this realm, or the cause of her decease. The only trace we have of her is the very last time she signed on her husband's behalf on a land-transfer deed, which was 15 Aug 1773. The family left Virginia in early December 1773. Even some historians are unsure if she went with them. So, I had to decide which death and then I just clicked on her and she was no more. :O

My elders were also sparkling for what seemed like forever, which is why I was getting so frustrated. lol. But, like I said, changing the lifespan made them all die within a day or two, it didn't have to be like that long. If your young adult is close to becoming an adult and you are worried it will drag on too long, you can always make them a teen in full edit mode, then age them back up to young adult when the elder dies.

It's their grandchild that I'm worried about, not their child. Their child and his spouse are already adults and doing just fine on their goals (I'm doing a legacy that's similar to Not-So-Berry but I've made up my own themes for each gen), but their grandchild is a teen and I'm hoping to have her YA birthday on the day Realm of Magic comes out, and I plan to immediately move in a RoM townie to be her spouse when I get that pack. I won't be able to do that if these elders don't drop soon, though, because my household is full and I refuse to move out one of my vampires.

And I really want to just force them into the age transition rather than alternative death methods for the sake of my screenshots. I'd rather force them to die from weight lifting than to cheat it with mods.

So basically I'm being stubborn and picky LOL

I'm also not a big fan of using mods unless I need it. I use mods in Sims 3 because you need them to not corrupt the save with bugs, but Sims 4 runs fine on its own so I've never needed them.

Thanks again for more suggestions, though. It still gives me things to think about~

Oh, I actually figured it out thanks to this thread: https://forums.thesims.com/en_US/discussion/953848/do-you-enjoy-long-lifespan/p1

Yes, I do enjoy that. Especially when I have a mod that allows all the cheats and can use this cheat to make elders die by old age:
    sims.age_up

I would like an easy cheat way to age sims up not the blocked way.

So the cheat does exist still, it's just blocked from the game and is meant to only be used by developers. This cheat wasn't blocked around the time Cats and Dogs came out because I used it to kill Justin and Supriya Delgato, but I guess at a later update they decided to block this cheat from being used by most people.

So to be able to use it you need a mod that unlocks the locked cheats. Carl's Sims 4 Guide explains that more so I guess I'll go read that to decide if I want to install that mod or just make my elders hit the gym.

@Sheepiling there is of course another option (may be playing devil's advocate here). Since your real problem is a full household, you could alternatively change that using the MCCC mod, that is if you feel like keeping the grandparents around still and have more than 8 Sims in the house :)

@sirguylittle Thanks for the suggestion, I'll consider it! I didn't know MCCC could do that :o

I may be wrong but doesn’t an elder die if they blow out the candles on a birthday cake?

Mine didn't have the option, so I don't know if they are supposed to.

I ended up getting the UI cheats mod, making them go swimming, dragging their needs down, and drowning them during family pool day...

    I tried to get them to die by weight lifting but once they were super uncomfortable they couldn't lift anymore. And I didn't wanna woohoo them to death because I already did that for generation 2... >.>;

So now they're sleeping with the fishes.

I know it isnt a cheat but... Just slap down a birthday cake and make them blow out some candles. >>

Easiest way I know of without a Mod cheat.

MCCC is awesome for just about anything cheat related you can think of though. Sick mod, you should check it out if your interested in mods.

I don't think you can kill elders that way? I was looking for a way to make them die of old age but I gave up.

The age up cheat was removed couple years ago, but I think there exists a mod that will enable those cheats that were removed. Never tried it myself, though.

I had a few elders who were getting way too old, and I simply sent them outdoors wearing their hot wear, causing them to freeze to death within a few hours. It was surprisingly quick and simple. Cold clothes in a hot day will work too. I also starved a few, with the help of the UI Cheat mod.
