Oh I just noticed there are three rune slots around the cauldron.
Is there really an emphasis on a coven (which I would love) or just fancy placement for the trailer ?
I'm sad and disappointed about this, but not surprised. My main sim is a vampire and I was so hoping he would be able to learn magic too. I mean, vampires are witches in some folklore! Oh well, it still looks like a fun pack. I just hope children don't get left out this time so I can at least turn my vampire's child into a cute little 'spellcaster'.
My stance is always been that an undead, biologically immortal being would be more predisposed to magic and therefore would be more likely to be spellcasters. After all, you've got all of eternity to learn. Most fantasy settings include this sort of thing. However, I understand that the devs are looking to have witches be distinct and concede this for gameplay purposes. I'm sure that there are mods that will allow us to at least use alchemy.
Yes, I agree with you! I hope you're right - I can definitely see my vampire having some fun with alchemy.
They’re not witches, they’re spellcasters now. This makes me think they’re more inspired from sorcerers than witches. The pack icon is even a book and not the iconic witch hat (which I saw none of in the trailer by the way).
Well it’s not a witch pack it’s a magic pack, so it makes sense.
It doesn't look good, Wands seem to be forced, Magic isn't nicely animated, they shouldn't have done magic hands. Potions look stupid and it They made a mockery of what could have been an awesome pack.
I've seen your posts and let's be honest, your expectations were way too high and unrealistic. It was never gonna be like Once Upon a Time or whatever high fantasy things you described. And It's just a game pack. For it's price, it's great.
Gurl, at this point everything they say is pulling me closer I love it!
After being somewhat disappointed with what has been released for a while, I'm that feral cat being coaxed in with treats. I want, but I'm apprehensive.
Earn my trust and I'll hang around, curling up and purring.
Oooooh so Harry Potter meets the Sims more or less...I like it! This will certainly be on my "to buy" list soon as things improve monetarily for me! This could be fun to delve in with my side slots. I know a few of my Sims that would so dig being warlocks and witches.

Probably fancy placement.
That's okay, I don't play Sims 3 but I'm definitely looking forward to the variety of spells for RoM!
Okay, that pulls me closer...

Very similar to vampires then. Who had about the same amount.
So it looks like the magical world will be like a secret lot then, like Sylvan Glade or Sixam. Traveling around with a broom then makes more sense.
