So those post don’t really have a conclusion. All I got from them was cloned ones probably don’t work, testing them 3 times might work... but testing them 3 times doesn’t work...
As far as I've seen in my saves, you need to test a serum 3 times. So, make 3, ask other sims (or I guess you could drink them yourself, that should also count for "testing" purposes) to test them. The next serums you make should show "tested" status. Not counting any bugs or other weirdness, that's how it should work.
And I don't think cloned serums work. You'd have to actually make them yourself. I'm guessing it has to do with the cloned serums being the exact copies of ONE "untested" serum.
You need test the serums by making three serums and then test the serums, either by drinking them yourself or give them to someone else. If you drink it yourself you have to wait until the effects wear off. When you make the fourth serum after you have tested it three times, it should be tested. Then you can clone the tested ones so you will always have tested serums.

Anyone have an actual answer?
