It's Complicated When …

I thought this could be a fun thread. Please do play along. List things that can make your Sims' life complicated. I'll start us off.

It's complicated when your teen Sim achieves Notable Newcomer and then suffers a mood-swing where he wants Sims to "Stop looking at Me!"

It's complicated when a teen has a total meltdown, both parents are Super Parents, and yet the parents are unable to talk to the teen because said teen doesn't want to talk. This teen was very stable before the meltdown, has emotional control and is very responsible. I have no clue what caused such a transformation. I guess he was just having a bad day.

Thanks for playing. I love it when teens get all moody. There's almost nothing you can do to help, sadly, even in RL. Hope things get better with your Sim.

This teen is an only child, both parents are Super Parents with Role Model, Matriarch and Patriarch traits, so to have this perfect teen suddenly turn moody and unmanageable was quite a shock. LOL But I do enjoy a bit of random drama. Anyone who is a parent in RL knows teens are little time bombs that can explode unexpectedly.

My daughter's eldest is almost 9 1/2 years old and is already showing signs of moodiness. I told her to prepare herself for 'six months long' PMS. LOL Let me tell you, they don't have to be teens to be little time bombs.

LOL....you're so right. Kids don't have to be a certain age to become total chaos, able to turn a home upside down without warning.

It's complicated when a trap in the Selvadoradian temple asks you to step on a pressure plate while in a specific emotion, but your sim's mind is so overloaded with Focused moodlets from simply being in the temple that no amount of emotion berries will ever change that.

It's complicated when you have a 2 story home and a starving toddler climbing down them. There is nothing you can do to move them faster and they get taken away before they reach the bottom step.

It's complicated when you're having a wedding but most of the sims there are famous and keep Inciting Cheers, interrupting your ceremony. Not to mention your caterer being too starstruck to actually cook anything.

Its complicated when my sim chooses the bathroom counter to cook a meal and everyone in the house is starving.

Yeah, it's so bad that my Global Superstar left his bride at the altar. She brought the Paparazzi with her, you see, when they had agreed upon a nice, quite PRIVATE wedding. Just family and friends. (I think this was her way of getting even with him.) But, she was the big loser in the end. He thanked the guests for coming and told them that the bride couldn't go through with it. Told them to enjoy the food and the entertainment. Then he quietly left.

I usually leave a plate of bread (like the cheesy bread or carrot bread) in the nursery, then toddlers can grab a bite themselves if they're hungry. (Bread recipes from Baking Skill in GTW.)

It's complicated when you're managing 4 kids, a dog, a job, and you get pregnant

(I forgot to add that that the teen and child have constant mood swings, and two toddlers are just... ugh.)

LOL I love it. I had a slightly different situation when it came to my Global Superstar meeting his finacee's parents. Her mom went all nuts over the poor guy.

It's complicated when your household contains 10 Sims (two elders, two young adults, two teenagers, one child, and three toddlers) and then SOMEBODY gets himself abducted by aliens. Thankfully he didn't come home pregnant, but I had a scare there. I love my large family, but I do lose track of what some of them are doing sometimes. Lol.

Unless they get married. I use the Road to Fame mod updated to augment GF. My singer Sim was having a terrible time keeping his girlfriend happy when his fans would get all flirty at him and offer him gifts or sometimes a single red rose. He has weak knees, you see, and would often 'play' along. He never meant it to be anything more than a bit of fun. His girlfriend, however, would have a massive melt down Suffice it to say, they didn't get married, although he was engaged to her twice.
