Cinebar Custom Content Clothes Updating Links 4/2020

edited April 2020 in The Sims 2
I'm creating this post to share most of the custom content I created for my Sims in the TS2. It will be updated with pictures of the clothes and links to media fire downloads if anyone is interested. These are my own work, the first three I am in process of sharing are Maxis meshes retextured into something different. What I will be sharing has more of a 60's flair to the styles, if you like themed clothes. Or let's just call them retro. :D

Someone asked me to share some Dark Shadows Sims I had created, too, so I may upload those, if possible with all their cc where possible and with permissions with those custom hairstyles etc. Or links where to find hair meshes.

I'll be back this week to share how the clothes look on the Sims (not necessarily DS clothes) but retro clothes. And the links. Hope you guys find something you like. I had a lot of fun learning how to create clothes for TS2, and some are nice in my opinion, though they may not be to everyone's taste since they are retro clothing and textures. But you might have a Sim who could use them, lol. I never did share anything like this before, since I'm actually very shy in real life (Lol, yes, it is true) and shy about sharing my own work. (Yes, shy, it's taken me fifteen years to decide to share anything, lol).

Happy Simming!

ETA: Check back I may have something you like. I have a lot to upload over time and make room for more.

ETA: If meshes aren't included I will note it. Also, most if not all are for YA and Adult Females. Until I post child, adult male or elderly though not many of those turned out very well unless you want some grunge and raggedy clothes. A few built that way on purpose. Not everyone has the Collins' money. :D

ImPoRTant: If anyone downloaded and saw the following number remove it from your downloads folder using SimsPkClean Installer, you don't need it. It's listed as 'Unknown' but pretty sure it's a recolor one of the models was wearing (makeup or hair or something) that I didn't untick before creating a new package file for the clothes. It is a large file and if you see it in any download package just untick it, or remove from downloads. F13a526bd387b1e3551400604b0cc54 and MD5 Number: FCD3951D4318CF (seen with Sims2PkCleanInstaller scan downloads)
It's a large file 7.MB and you don't need it! sorry about that, it is in some of the download links and it will be listed unknown, but pretty sure it was a hair recolor file and not necessary for you. My bad.

1st is to a coat for my Vickie, Created from the Maxis Rain Coat, turned into a sweater, jacket and skirt. Pics later.

Those large green Pjs were just too big, (Maxis Mesh) no alpha alteration, but they are now some retro 60's top and lounging pants, enjoy if you like them.

The following is link to a full body dress for Angelique, texture silk. The mesh is a texture mesh by LanaSims Mesh 044

One of my Sims will be wearing this in a picutre below to show my top, the skirt mesh is not mine, I have retextured it. This top comes in about three different styles I created and nice spring blouses, for the times, and one in black, which is sort of nice, too. Not perfect modder but hey, my Sims needed some clothes their characters would have worn. Install both the top and skirt or one or the other using Sims2PKClean Installer.

I think you will like this blouse, altered Maxis mesh (it won't hurt the original) it's the same as the purple on right above this link however, it's dull pink roses on soft white, lovely pattern. (for the sixties). Goes with jeans or a skirt covering belly button. Enjoy if you like it. If not, no worries.

1800's jacket, high texture coat, raggedy lapels. This is a Maxis mesh, seen on Quentin (my Sim) on page 2. I didn't retexture Maxis textures of pants and shoes just the upper torso for the jacket. This was an experiment I did as on of the first things I wanted to try for a story I was doing. It didn't turn out too bad, and after all the coat is centuries old and the raggedy lapels give it a worn look. I didn't expect to share it, but here it is if you want a Sim to wear it.

Here she wears the coat retextured from the Maxis rain coat mesh. No mesh necessary it's already in your game if you have Seasons installed. I have the TS2UC, so I have all packs installed. Galoshes can not be retextured or recolored.

The following is a two piece outfit for Vickie (she was my main character so yeah, she gets a lot of clothes), The top is a Maxis mesh, and I have retextured it. The skirt mesh is by another creator (which I used with many different tops.) I love two piece outfits! This is very retro, remember she lives in 1966-1971. I'll check if I have permission to upload the skirt, too. It comes with a belt Not seen in this pic, and matches the top. I used this skirt mesh for many things and the top. All clothes are my own textures whether Maxis meshes or creators' who allowed us to use their texture meshes.

This is Elizabeth she is wearing LianaSims Mesh 108 (full body texture mesh). I have textured it to keep up with the times, lol. I also did this in blue. Elizabeth is a very proper dresser. The skirt texture is velvet.

Carolyn is wearing a Maxis sweater mesh, retextured by me, hey, it's the mid to late sixties, you have to have some paisley :D My Sims like layers. :p The skirt is from creators AAS, and K8skirt (?) odd,....but anyway, retextured it to yellow texture. In the next pictures I show you Mrs. Johnson in a Maxis mesh I altered (it won't ruin your Maxis mesh in game) that old mansion is drafty. Lots of sweaters and layers! lol

    http://www.mediafire.com/file/g9y8wrepvvbt8sb/CarolynSweater%2CFlowertop%2Cyellowskirt.rar/file

And Maggie Evans wears another Maxis mesh I retextured because I saw that dress on the net, and though the hem was wider and more flared I had to try to see if I could do it. :p Those links will be up later. ETA: Here you go.

The following is to provide you with where I got a texture mesh for many of the skirts I will be uploading with my own textures. I don't remember if I had permission to upload their mesh with my own textures to my own blogs or sites. (As long as not pay sites) But I think did. However, just to make sure, I'm providing you a link to XMSims site for BottomAFmesh001 as I used it for many things you may see later. Especially a polka dot skirt and top I created from it and an Altered Maxis mesh top. (Coming up shortly). Just to be on the safe side here is the link to that skirt mesh you will be seeing. (But I'm pretty sure we could use the mesh (upload) with our own textures to our own sites or uploads as long as we provided back a link to them.)

    http://www.xmsims.com/sims2/ehtm/mesh/clothingmesh01.htm

ETA: Also, K8 🐸🐸🐸🐸 skirt mesh also requires a link but will be included in uploads as we could use the mesh with our textures if I remember correctly as along as we give them credit for their mesh work (thank you! always) Here is their link to body mesh and particular skirt mesh http://www.parsimonious.org/fashion2/pages/meshes_2.html Those skirts are what Carolyn is wearing with the layerd top below. Link to download shortly.

ETA: Two Piece outfit I just described from an altered Maxis mesh top and xmsims skirt mesh (will be included in downloads, as I have link provided here). Mix and Match time! Download from my link the outfit (2 piece Vickie is wearing) Or from above if you missed something, I will try to keep all links in the 2nd post if possible.

PM me if the links don't work, all work here will be uploaded and in the 2nd post. ETA: (Or if I'm confusing, lol) I still keep forgetting to post link to the big flower top/sweater/yellow skirt the blond (Caroyln) is wearing. lol

I have a lot more to upload, however, I'm not sure they are worth sharing. Some of my earlier work. They probably aren't as nice (pains taking) as the tulip shirt I created or the rose blouse etc. But more raggedy for my poorer Sims. Stay tuned, I might have some gowns (just because these Sims live in a conservative world and sometimes go back and forth into previous centuries) that you may want to throw onto a Sim. I left the better mini skirts and skimmy outfits they wore to other creators. I needed more conservative clothing so I had to create them. lol THough Kathyrn Scott (Maggie)started wearing a lot of Junior Miss (shorter outfits and skirts) late in the series to sell the brand. But there was already all that out there and I didn't need to create any of that. :) Remember they had to dress for dinner. And males always wore a suit, if they lived at Collinwood.

Thank all of you who have tried my downloads. :) I hope you enjoy some of them. I just want to express my gratitude. Someone had suggested I start a blog, upload some of my work and ask for donations. lol, no, I was a beginner creator, I made a lot of mistakes, and did a lot of things wrong which many beginners do wrong. But my love of TS2 and the TS2 community did inspire me to share some things some people might have liked. It's not perfect, I bet I redid some things several times, (I have too many project files!) and I was always embarrassed to ever put things over on MTS etc. But this is something I wanted to do for years. Last year I had a lot of things to think about. I had went through some heavy things, (still do) and spent some of my time, when I could/able, to work on some things. Some things I did a few years before. But TS2 kept me sane, lol, no seriously, it kept my mind busy trying to improve. If you have any tips or suggestions I'll listen. If you don't like anything I did, that's o.k. Feel free to PM me, I won't be insulted. I was a beginner and made many mistakes, but some are o.k. More to come once I can get all of them separated but time contraints, only so much energy. Forget all this whining, just look at them as beginner creator and thanks for the interest. I probably will never stop loving the TS2 and it's community. :)

These outfits will be up later today or this weekend. Julia is wearing a two pc outfit, Maxis retextured top and AAS skirt mesh, retextured.

Next (it's the 60's yes, it's ugly, lol :D ) she wears this 2 pc outfit Maxis retextured top and one of the skirts I mentioned above with my own textures. Julia is a staunch dresser and had a very 60's flair to her taste.

    2hgqy43.jpg Link later

Grayson Hall was my favorite actress on the series so I had to give her an old, raggedy, robe, lol, very retro. It's Maxis robe mesh retextured.

Update (reserved) for more skirts and tops, sorry I have been late to upload any missing outfits with pictures already posted last month. Hurt my hand and was unable to finish the uploads to media fire. I will post them as soon as I can this week. Also, more skirts and tops I forgot to add to this post. Pictures will be added to this post as soon as I can get them loaded. Thank you all for testing and trying my cc. I enjoyed making the themed cc with what meshes I had and allowed to share or use.

More pictures and links later this week, I will try to get to them. Thank you!

Sorry I didn't get to upload as I promised last month. As I said I hurt my hand that month and it was more painful to do all that work than I thought it would be. Please note the new links above in the first (link) post (to keep it neat and tidy). These are more retro clothes for conservative dressing Sims who had to set a protocol of how they dress on a daily basis. (Mainly for my own characters of a story). Hope you find something else you enjoy! Pictures of anything not shown will be updated maybe later this week. Thank you!

My Lace tops (the pale blue one in this picture) are Maxis Meshes and contain a bumpmap, because of this bumpmap (which I retextured to make these lace tops/layers) may not be compatable with every skirt or pants in your game especially other cc skirts. If you use this Maxis mesh for cc remember it has this bumpmap and you would have to change the skirt or possibly the pants of some creator's stuff or even some of Maxis stuff. It can't be mixed with everything that is possibly in your game. (Updated links to most of these outfits as of today). June 12, 2019 ETA: Meshes included and mainly by XMS 01 skirt or K8gypsyskirt which I have shared links above to their sites for any texture meshes we were allowed to use.

    2is6usp.jpg

    2wlylc9.jpg

ETA: Thought I uploaded the link for this outfit, but I see it's for a different outfit. I'll add it as soon as I can. This top and bottom is lace textures (mine) it's the Maxis mesh top same as tulip shirt above and Megamoo skirt mesh (included). The skirt has a bumpmap that may not play nice with all other tops in game or custom tops by all creators. If it ( the skirt) turns your Sim dark while in CAS just switch the bottom to something else if you want your Sim to wear the top. But both of these pieces will work together. I should remove any Maxis bumpmaps (not allowed on other creators' meshes) so this doesn't happen as some of Maxis sweaters have an annoying bumpmap that may cause this too, when you retexture them. Anyway, this is a two piece outfit and works very well together (textures are mine).

Here is close up of pale blue, lace top. This is a Maxis mesh. As I said it has an annoying bumpmap that may not work with all bottoms in your game. If it causes the Sim to turn dark just switch a bottom. (glow, turns Sim dark etc.) this happens often with Maxis bumpmaps. It works with many of the skirts I have uploaded. Link later as soon as my CPU stops running too high. ETA: Finally, here is the top without any bottom it will work with many bottoms but not all.

This outfit is almost the same as the brown checked outfit, but not. I wanted you to see how hard I worked on the blouse and the check lines, not perfect but tried really hard a few years ago. Link for this coming tomorrow. (More to upload)

    Update link here and above.

The reason I mention why this one was so hard are some facts about meshes. Sims body frames aren't perfect. When you are looking at a flat mesh and you can even measure exactly in the center of say a top, and draw a line or cover it with some material it's not the center.
Many people don't know this. So, you see you have the buttons etc. perfectly in the center, right, great, but then you refresh the Sim in BS and oh no, that's not the center at all! lol It may be off a few inches.
This one gave me some trouble. But finally got the buttons centered as much as I could.

Also, when you draw vertical lines on a Sim mesh, as you go down the body they get wider. On all meshes. No matter who created it, Maxis or creators. It's perfect in the picture of the flat matbase. But refresh the Sim and oh no, it's way too wide. This is why many creators (like me or others) stay away from patterns or vertical lines.
Here's another secret about how hard it is sometimes to work with meshes. The waist in the front is not in the same place as in the back. I would dare say most players don't know this. So, when you critque someone's work and the top's hem of a shirt etc. seems a little bit higher or lower in the back or front, it's because of this fact. It takes time and time and time to line those up and then it may not want to line up at all. Just thought I would share that though making clothes of some styles is easy, at other times it's a pain in the neck. Happy Simming!

ETA: For anyone who has read any of this thread and posts at all the word plum keeps popping up. Trust me I'm not using bad langauge. The initials for bodyshop is censored. And I saw where the initials for young adult and adult was also censored but may reappear or disappear and become plum. Good grief Vanilla forums. I have hand problems all the time, and you make me spell out words instead of using initials most TS2 players understand that stands for bodyshop..good grief...rant over. lol

And this is for top only. This is my textures on Maxis mesh. The skirt is one of the meshes I used over and over already noted in a very nice blue pattern I textured. I have posted the wrong pic for the Vickie Blue sheer top I linked above will correct it later as trouble with tinypics loading and stalling out.

These screen shots may not show the detail of the black bolt skirt I created but hopefully you see some of the detail. Skirt and top are in links in 2nd post. (This is not a flat, black skirt, the detail doesn't show up so good, lol)

And if anyone is interested I will also post this retextured Maxis mesh I created the textures for Julia Hoffman, she always wore dress clothes (never casual) and lots of scarves. :D ( Scraf is part of the dress). Dress is brown wool.
