Whatever happened to the events

As the title goes whatever has happened to the events that used to last for a week like finding the items to make plantsims or having that sim appear for a week and greeting her to start an event .

Sadly it seems that EA now only do them for sims mobile and the main game is totally forgotten about .

There was even a couple that had rare items to collect but they have never returned to try and finish those collections , so you end up doing debug to complete the collections or you got a mood boost for completing them

I think the last one was the Positivity Challenge with the inspirational posters and to me that doesn’t seem too long ago.
I imagine there might be one near-ish Easter.
