I really miss the family relationships from TS3 like Mother-In-Law, Father-In-Law, Brother-In-Law, Sister-In-Law, Step-Mother, Step-Father, Step-Brother, Step-Sister, Great-Grandmother, Great-Grandfather, etc. I know we have a family tree that shows those relationships, but I'd really like to see it in the relationship panel. If there is a mod that does this, please tell me about it - I'd download it in a second! I know not everyone cares about this and it's probably not such a big deal, but it sucks being related to someone and their relationship is just shown as "Aquaintances". Would anyone else like to see this return?

I definitely do. I wonder like...at this point if they could create a feature similar to the custom jobs but with relationship titles? Like if we could type the title of the sims' relationship then mark it as either family, friend, or lover and then the said mark sim would get the appropriate interactions by the mark. I mean, I know that could be pretty tedious on current bigger generations but I would find it worth it on the newer ones.

I've wanted this from the very beginning. It's a shame the devs took those relationships and just buried them. It was one of my favorite things about having generations of families. I remember how excited I was these relationships were important to my Sims. Not to mention how fun it was for telling stories. Yeah, not including all the relatives of Sims in Sims4 was a huge mistake.

Of course. My only question is why wasn’t it added in the first place? Maybe an oversight? Was it too expensive?

No, we don't. I'm not referring to the immediate family relationships, but things like step-parents and -siblings, in-laws, great-grandparents, etc. We only have those in the family tree (not in-laws, though).

I'd love something like this! Relationships can be complicated sometimes, lol!

I think the devs thought it wasn't as an important feature, so just left it.

Yes, I've also wanted this for a while now. It just doesn't feel right to see 'roommate' instead of step-parent etc. in CAS. I decided not to give my sim couple an alien baby from abduction for this very reason and went the adoption route instead. I have one household where the uncle is raising his niece and I was able to create their relationship in CAS by creating the mother/sister first then deleting her, so yes there are ways at least with immediate family, but it would be so much easier if we just had more relationship options in CAS. Not just family either but also boyfriend/girlfriend, best friend etc.

Yes. I would like to see that too. I also want to be able to see all relatives in relationship panel. Like you know, we can filter known sims as co-workers, household, lovers, clubs but there's no family-relatives tab.

I'd want that, too. Yes, we do have step-siblings, but that's only one of the relationships requested here.

I've noticed that there is a step-sibling relationship in the relationship types from using the UI Cheats mod, but there's only that. It seems like they started adding more relationships, but scrapped the idea for whatever reason.

It's definitely there without the mod too.

I would love this feature in TS4. I have since the beginning. I have a huge family in TS4, and it’s disappointing to see some of my major branches barely listed as being related, without the use of the family tree.

Yeah, the lack of relationship options in CAS has always really irked me.

How odd. I still have the family with a half sibling and a step sibling but now, when they're grown up it doesn't show. I know for a fact it showed before. I distinctly remember it! Maybe it was some mod then but not the UI as I don't use it. I only used it once ages ago to try it out. Odd.

There's things I miss from all previous versions of the game that I never know why they didn't keep. Memories and personalities from the Sims 2, relationships from the Sims 3 and probably many more things if I think about it. The thing I would most like though is an open world like the Sims 3 but with graphics of the Sims 4. I loved the open world but hated the Sims 3 graphics.

Yeah...hopefully they can achieve this with TS5, but I won't get my hopes up so soon.

I agree!! It would enhance the game the same way CC does! :'(

Yes. I miss the in laws and the step family acknowledgements. It's be nice to have cousins acknowledged as well. I think it is so weird that I'll have a family gathering and cousins aren't recognized. I don't want my Sims flirting with their cousins ya know. But I do believe the game does recognize the Gran parents. I've only ever gotten to generation 5 and if I recall the founders we're always recognized as grandparents.
