A resort is just a lot, that has the resort designated items on it. You can add any other features that you like. I do not have Showtime, but I do not know why you couldn't have a stage on the lot as well, unless that is limited in Showtime to only particular types of venue.
Ive placed showtime stages in a few different lots. They always work properly. I did put one in my casino resort that is in my studio. I only tried using it once and it seemed to work. Just check if a proprietor shows up. If not try resetting the stage.
I like using the stage rig setup inside the big show venue shell outdoors.Looks really!!!! good at night. It is found in the debug there are two good ones I like the darker one better with the black speaker stacks but the one with the canopy gives it a woodstock look.
Just did this real quick only takes minutes to make a cool venue...don't forget to add your proprietor spawn
Anyway drop your rig (Hint: leave enough space to build a wall behind it,will show you why later) is neat
Add a 8x7 stage used for Shows it is in debug, slide it in will show how to match and line it up.
Style the floor how you want, can be wood or steel grating whatever you like
Place down any plain flooring on the sides i used a carpet since does not matter
Now just style it same as your stage floor will match right up,yay
Add your benches for the show and if you want can add big crowd object behind it is up to you.I like local crowds personal taste
You paint your terrain however,I like adding spotlights found in outdoor lighting cause not only looks cool during showsbut attracts sims to your venue.See them on the side of stage
Now add trees flowers etc to make it cute but build a wall like mentioned in step one behind your stage like below
Toss any basic wallpaper on it and style it to match stages gun metal blue. Then it perfectly fits 3 Showtime band posters which looks awesome as a backdrop. cute huh
Add whatever to your lots since you want it to be enjoyable anytime not just during shows.I tossed in a photobooth and concession. Not show i put outdoor all in one bathrooms looks like concert port a potty's
Anyway just keep decorating adding fun stuff for sims but even though this is an example looks so awesome at night this rigging really lights up it looks insanely awesome and a great place for your performances and your sim fests
Thanks for your answers everyone! I guess I wasn't clear - I have actually already made a ton of showtime venues but I've never tried putting the stage in a resort lot. The stage itself isn't the question, I know where it is, etc. I was just apprehensive about using so much space (and time, as in spending time designing a lot) for the stage and audience if the proprietor isn't going to show up when I open the resort. We shall see, though! Fingers crossed If anyone's interested, I'll let you know how it turns out
@CravenLestat Love this tutorial, and all your other tutorials. Maybe you could start a thread for them? I was searching everywhere fior this one cause I’d seen it in one of the threads but couldn’t find it again!
It should definitely work. If your proprietor doesn't spawn there is a proprietor square on MTS you can download and place next to your stage.
It will show up in buydebug as it originally should have. I always use the proprietor square bc my game would take forever to spawn one.
She did! I was super happy. Until IP (the last exp. I bought, along with ItF) I had a "Private Venue" casino, but it bothered me that the place shut down every night (casinos are 24/7, right? lol) and that it didn't function as a hotel as well, or at least allow for a "high rollers suite" of sorts so this is the best, I'm pretty happy )
Glad to hear you got it to work! I didn't know the answer, but I was spying on this topic every day because soo many lots would be really cool with the addition of a showtime stage - especially resorts! Look forward to seeing the pics of your finished resort!
I've shoved bookstores and grocery stores (rabbitholes) onto a private lot (non-commercial) and they've worked, so yeah...naturally, a showtime venue will work on a resort as you found out.
Always "River McIrish" ...and maybe some Bebe Hart. ~innocent expression~

I built the casino too, but I set it as visitors allowed. I used the bistro set to set up a sushi restaurant on one of the floors and I used the ticket machine from the store. I built four high roller suites and use the doors that come with the ticket machine to set it to need two tickets of varying colors for each room. That way Sims still have to pay to use them. I also put a little wedding chapel on the main floor. If you set the lots to visitors allowed I'm pretty sure it doesn't have a closing time.
I'm happy you got it to work for you. There is nothing more frustrating than knowing something works in the game and not being able to figure out how to get it to do so.

It wasn't that I didn't know how to add it, it was that I didn't want to spend time remodeling the lot to include a show stage if the stage wasn't going to be usable on that lot type (some lot types do not allow for a showtime stage.)
I actually bought the ticket system to use on the casino lot, I just didn't really like the look of it for each room door and realized anyone with those colors could use that room lol! Woke up with a stranger staring at me *shudder* *mumbles something about creepy NPCs* hehe Usually I ended up using Nona's community door/gate lock mod and just locking it when my sims wanted to crash there.
The hangout rout didn't appeal to me because the bar drinks are bunk. Though now that I think of it, setting it to Art Gallery would have solved that, though I think music and whatnot on that lot type might shut down at 9... I can't remember for certain, though.
Do you mean pics? I posted a link above to an imgur page with them above Here it is in case that's what you meant If you meant the lot itself, sure just tell me how!
The lot, yes. If you're logged into thesims3.com while you're playing, you can share the lot from your library file to the sim's library online , and then the rest of us can download it and add it to our games.
