Do infants add anything? (Like a trait unlock)

Besides feeding them and changing their diapers?

Like toddlers can get the Top Notch Toddler trait. Is there something to earn during the infant stage?

Or should I just instantly age them up to infants so I can start working toward top notch toddler?

No, babies don't have skills so there are no traits to be earned. Taking care of them does enhance the caregiver's parenting skill if you have the Parenthood pack but that's it.

Nope. Babies just lay there and cry when they need something. FREE THE BABIES!!

there are a few traits that only babies can get, but they're things from their parents. 'batbaby' is a hidden trait from two batform vampires trying for baby (when the sim with this trait ages up to teen they get batform for free) and 'father winter's baby' from...well, a sim trying for baby with father winter (when they age up to toddler, they start earning more satisfaction/reward points than other sims). cheating the first one onto an existing sim does absolutely nothing, no batform unlock at all, it just seems to work if the sim 'earns' it by being born

They can burn. But yeah they are a useless stage that act more like hamsters or gnomes than human. Sims don't really get interesting until they reach their first official life stage of toddler.
