missed opportunities in GF

So I am havin lots of fun with GF, but I am missing one thing: Why can't you be a fan?
I mean as an aspiration "Superfan", that would have been cool.
I made my own superfan, for now she is always chasing down celebs for autographs and pictures and watching them perform, she also has a "Vlog" that is devoted to fanvideos (one is called "Why Thorne is awesome") and she is sortof a paparazzi cause she sells some of the photos she made of celebs.
And yes, Thorne is her alltime fav, she is going to build a shrine at her home and will chase after him alot (I hate Thorne so this is my way of torturing him).
She has also formed a club "the fanaddix" they watch live entertainment & movies, take pics (of famous people).

Also it would have been fun imho to have paparazzi as an official career.

What do you think?

Other than aspiration wise with a special trait, nothing keeping me from making my Sim into a uber stan. Glad I'm not the only one that tried out making your sim be a weirdo fan.

Making general advances when relationship is low and the celebrity didn't want anything to do with her. Taking pictures of celebrities as well as collecting as many autographs as my sim could while pretty much dedicating a room to them. (Need to take a picture of it). Going to their home in the middle of the night and pretty much 'swiping' things from celebrity homes just to put in my sims room of celeb worship.

With strangerville out I can have her bug celebrities. 'Literally.'

Not sure how far you can get with a papprazii career. Basically taking pictures and selling them for the most part. Since paprazii tends to be more like freelancing anyway less your sim were into something like 'tabloids' and such using the streaming bot to catch celebrities on camera throwing hissy fits or getting into a fight doing something scandelous.

swiping things, that's a good idea...do you need the clepto trait for that?

yeah, I guess it's not much of a career really, I was just thinking the work assignments could have been fun, like havin to take pics of a specific celeb maybe at a specific place too (though I don't know if that would even be possible for the game) or bribing/convincing/fighting bouncers to get into VIP areas.

Does the bug thing work outside strangerville?

I really wish we had tabloids. Imagine being able to read them on the phone or computer and get moodlets like with the Public Number quirk.

I love those ideas! Except for the aspiration, but I do understand having goals, like collecting autographs. Perhaps a slightly different aspiration? Friend of the Stars? In the Entourage? The reward trait could be that celebs start off friendlier, since you've gained a good reputation with them and boost their fame rep, too. (That should somehow be a requirement, like praise them a lot. I saw one interaction like that., I THINK.)

What I want is to choose whom Sims are fans of.

EVERY Sim is a fan of EVERY star, and that annoys me SO much. ... Playing a celebrity? ALL strangers are FANS. Funny for delusional, self-absorbed celebs to IMAGINE, but not right for every single star. *sigh*

I was actually hoping the Stan would be that superfan, myself. So far, they don't do much. They just show up at the star's home. One of mine accidentally killed himself out in the backyard. The only fireplace on the lot that hadn't been fire-proofed. He decides to light it. Silly Stan. My Global Superstar did his best to save his Stan, to no avail. He even pleaded with Grimmie, but Grimmie turned him down. (At least, for a change he was able to plead.) Then, Grimmie had the audacity to ask for an autograph! Are you kidding me? LOL

OP, I wouldn't personally be interested in a fan career, but you could make your own by stalking celebrities and selling off the photos of them. It wouldn't be a guided career with tasks, though, and it sounds like that is what you would prefer. It's not a bad idea, though, especially if it had quirky interactions... like throwing juice on a celebrity so you could take a picture of them outraged... or unleashing a herd of fainting goats onto the red carpet. If it would allow me to sabotage a celebrity in any way so I could get a ridiculous picture, I'd be down then. ROFL

Thank you. This was nothing I orchestrated. It just happened. I love when the game throws a twist at the player. I was blogging about this Sim, so it came in handy. I've since put a pause on the blog, because my game got a tad borked after the recent patch for Strangerville. It monkeyed up the mod I was using. I've since installed the latest version, but made the decision to go back several game saves to begin my Sims' upward journey to stardom. So far, he's a b-lister. Two more stars, aging him up to YA and I can pick up where I initially left off.

I'm happy acting is a thing, however was hoping they expanded on Music and Comedy too.

I was rooting for Active performances Like at a Nightclub or Restaurants you could book live entertainment with the Mic Stand

it was a long shot but I wanted my sim to get a career as a Record Dealer, My sim mother is the Equivalent of Jennifer Hudson. Julia King, was suppose to be a prominent singer after she became a full time mom, she kept singing but not publicly, However, until the death of her husband, and her kids now grown, I wanted her to get back work, and help musicians discover themselves.
