Adding more CAS traits to Sims (solved!)

Edit: Turns out I was using the outdated version of the mod! Once i got the updated version, I was able to add all the traits I wanted!
I've downloaded the Mod "Add More CAS Traits" by Embyr311, and the companion mod "Add Traits In Regular Menu Mod", but I still can't add any CAS traits. I get adding things like the reward traits, death types, toddler/child *growing up* traits, but I can't add things like Geek or Dog Lover, it just replaces a trait I had already.
I'm definitely using the command with testingcheats on, the traits.equip_trait [insert trait here], but it just isn't working!
Any ideas what I can do to help? I'm trying to make my Simself, but I need way more than 3 traits, and I want to experiment with how much of an improvement to the gameplay having more than 3 traits makes.
