Where to honeymoon?

My sims are about to get married. I am just wondering where they should honeymoon. I am thinking of going to all three locations but will probably only go to one. I love the idea of nectar making, but I really need them to make money so they can move to their future home.

Since you wanted to make money for your new house I voted for China due to the fact that you'll be guaranteed to find plenty of platinum and mercury laying around the map. There's a chance you can make a great deal of money if you can find Tiberium ore. There are two large rocks in front of Han's Orchard where occasionally Tiberium will spawn but mostly you'll get faked out with Jade and Emerald (bleh) but it's worth trying. Make sure to check relic vendor every day for Platinum or Mercury or hopefully Tiberium. If you choose to instead go to Egypt I would suggest you go to the pyramid of the sky at the top of the map. If you are standing at the entrance, turn around and look out into the distance. You'll see an oasis and further out a sort of small valley with sand and some trees, walk past the oasis (which will be on your right) and continue towards the end of the valley. You should see the bottom of a hill of the left before the end of the valley where high level ore can spawn including Tiberium. Further out at the end of the valley you can find mummitomium, another valuable ore. Check the relic vendor everyday for both Tiberium or mummitomium. Alternatively you could complete the pyramid of the sky and pick up the treasures along the way. At the end there is a life fruit plant and a death flower. You can return at any time to harvest the life fruit.

If you are fortunate enough to find valuable ore, making the most out of it will depend on what ore we are talking about. Make sure you finish the ore collector challenge that gives you the chance to receive multiple ingots in the mail when you smelt ore. Send any platinum, mercury or mummitomium away to be smelted or really any ore that you find that's $54 or more in value. Tiberium is different though. Ideally you'll want Supernatural installed so that you have access to the gem cutting machine. You can purchase one or you can use the one at the elixir consignment shop. Cut the tiberium with the gem cutting machine into a small spire. You will also receive 1-6 tiberium gem dust. Move the spire and the gem dust outside of your sims inventory onto your home lot but don't place them right next to eachother or other objects, they will grow into a large spire but they will need space to do so. They should grow after a day or so left out of the inventory. Each large spire of tiberium should be worth anywhere from 30-40k or more. Take these large spires to the elixir consignment shop and consign them. The large spire should sell for around twice their original value. I don't quite remember all the factors that play into how much stuff sells for at the consignment store. In any case it's going to be a large chunk of change for your newly weds to start a family. If you do not have Supernatural installed you can move the raw ore out of your inventory and it will grow into a large spire.

I hope this wasn't overwhelming or didn't make sense. Didn't mean for this to turn into a speech. For more information on metal collecting you can find it here. For more information on Tiberium, you can find that here.

Some additional notes if you decide this is the route you want to go to raise money for your newly weds. You can buy any ore you have access to through your expansions at an ambitions consignment store. Also If you don't have concerns about how this may change the balance of the game, you can place a relic register on a commercial lot. I believe they are in build mode / community objects / Misc. Though I could be wrong, I'm foggy at the moment, been sick for days. They won't sell relics but they will sell raw ore and gems. Though sometimes their inventory may be empty. I always build a shop at the junk yard that sells ore. Additionally there are some bugs you might be aware of. The first small spire I cut won't grow into anything. This can be avoided if I have more than one piece of ore to cut thus giving me more than one small spire. Since this is a bug I can't find info on, I suspect is effects very few people. Just don't be discouraged if you encounter it because it shouldn't last past the first cut. Also, if you have high free will on you can choose to not give your sim a command after you've cut all your tiberium. They may choose to autonomously use the machine again and for some reason (bug reason) they will cut another piece that you don't have and it may continue on like that giving you small spires and gem dust for as long as you choose to let them do it. This feels cheaty though in my opinion because it's clearly a bug and Tiberium already makes you so rich to begin with but that's up to you.

Sorry, but I don't see the "Other" choice so I can't vote. For those not averse to using mods, NRaas Traveler allows us to vacation our sims in any world that we have installed. I would have voted for Lucky Palms, rumor has it there might be a casino there. :)

Actually, I've never played Lucky Palms but have placed casinos in Sunlit Tides, Isla Paradiso (a fixed up world version of course), Monte Vista, and Champs Les Sims in addition to a small number of slot machines scattered about in less potentially romantic settings elsewhere, so any of those would work too.

Like Igazor, I was looking for other. As I use the traveler mod to broaden my choices of destinations.
But out of those 3, France is what I chose, It feels more honeymoonish to me.

If you change the Base Camp, Egypt is a very exotic and interesting place to go.

Champs le sims is just cliche honeymoon location.

While France is for lovers and would be the classic honeymoon location, I chose China. I just seem to have more fun sending my Sims there.

All the WA travel destinations are beautiful and worth visiting though. Maybe you could base the decision on your Sims traits/preferences or any wishes they may roll to make the choice more personal to the couple?

I would choose Egypt, as I think Champs-les-Sims is the least well made of the three adventure worlds... Otherwise, with Nraas Traveler, Sunlit Tides wins over them all! B)

I couldn't vote because I like them all that it's hard to choose just one, honestly.

The only thing I don't like is the base camp for Egypt. There are much better base camps for it though, with comfy rooms, so just replace that if you want to go there.

I remember way back when Al Simhara happened to be the last of the WA worlds I tried out. Almost fell off my chair laughing at the Base Camp the first time I saw it, I mean compared only to the other two back then. I suppose if my sims had traveled there earlier on it might have seemed more ordinary whereas the one in Champs Les Sims would have seemed like a luxury resort.

Not sure it's the best location for a romantic honeymoon either, but it really depends on the couple and what they are "into." :)

I voted for France cause it's supposed to be really romantic (questionable). If you'd added other I would have picked other cause I use Traveler mod and use Monte Vista or Sunlit Tides for honeymoons.

Install NRaas Traveler mod and go to Isla Paradiso/Sunlit Tides. If you don't want to install any mod, then France is okay, though I'll probably edit it a little bit to have more venues.

Egypt or China. Either one is nice.

I picked Egypt because idk why. I think I'm biased toward it at the moment. But it is beautiful and you could earn some decent money there. Probably could in China too but it's been a while since I've played there so IDK. China and Egypt are both gorgeous and exciting destinations. Either would be good. Others make a good point about Egypts camp though. But I guess it depends what your sims get up to. Mine are never at camp and sleep in tombs anyway.

France as much as it's the typical romance destination... the world is awfully underwhelming IMO. Egypt and China are so gorgeous and France is... ehhh. It's okay.

Call me traditional, but I always send my Sims to honeymoon in Champs Les Sims. They stock up on Nectar to cellar at home, maybe explore a ruin, but generally just have a romantic good time. Then at home, they'll switch the hot-tub side radio to French music when they want their sweetie to know they're in the mood. It's corny, but it works for me. :)

It is just so beautiful, especially when first arriving, camera gliding in and over it! The houses are interesting too. My sims do not go on honeymoons, but if they could visit other worlds for a similar romantic trip, I would choose Bridgeport for it’s nightlife or Hidden Springs for the added mystique.

@igazor From reading posts here and elsewhere I understand that opinions about mods can for some players be divided into very polarized camps, so that one is either 'with them or against them'; but not everyone who doesn’t use mods are hostile against them or opposed to ever use them

@dreamerz13 That was exactly what bothered me with Champs-les-Sims - the sense of unfinished emptiness. So I took the world into CAW and made it over. You can find the before - after video on YouTube. Unfortunately part two, with the community lots overhaul, was erased because I had used music I wasn't allowed to use...

Lol! I think they were trying to go for the "excavation site" look in Egypt.

The area by the Nile is really beautiful day or night and scenery is so picture-worthy. If the OP wants to honeymoon in Egypt, she should replace the base camp with a base that looks more like a resort and move it closer to the Nile. Along the Nile is greener with more flora so when pictures are taken, there are nice contrasts of the greenery, the water of Nile, the blue sky and the sandy background. I need to fall into the habit of taking pictures while I play the game. Some pictures would show what I'm talking about....

Yes, but my sims weren't there on a honeymoon. It was, oh let's see if I can remember, uncle, two very young nephews and one teen, and the grandparents. They were there to relax and have a fun vacation, which they did. I wasn't really expecting luxury accommodations with poolside bar service, a buffet, miniature golf, and movies night, but I wasn't expecting it to start out in quite such a "back to basics" let's forage for our food kind of environment either. :)

Ah yes, I've seen your makeover of Champs-les-sims before. You did a fabulous job of adding some flair to it. It really did seem unfinished/rushed. I swear it was like the last world they worked on for WA and they couldn't commit the same time as they did to Egypt and China. Just such a contrast when you look at those 2 IMO. Like it's not bad or anything, it's a solid base, it just seems flat and dull to me. Just the simple things like putting more plants instead of terrain paint to add some shape (like you've done). You made it so much nicer.

In my version of Champs-les-Sims, I had to redo all the lots and install them them afterwards, as EIG shut down on me repetedly. I will install it on my new computer and see what I can do to share it...

I typically choose France. I know its cliche but something about sending them to make wine together and stroll the French countryside just seems right to me for a honeymoon.
