I'm sure this has been asked a million times before, but I'd like to double check that a laptop I'm considering will be sufficient enough to run TS4 plus expansions, game packs, CC, etc on a high setting. I'm only looking to play TS4 on this laptop, I'm not a PC gamer and I use a Mac for everything but gaming. Budget is flexible, the laptop I'm currently looking at is close to £800. I'm not remotely tech savvy and any help would be massively appreciated!
Processor: Intel Core i5 Quad Core Processor

Thanks in advance and I apologise if this has been posted in the wrong category.
Bring back the Paranormal career already.

Thank you, that's good to know!
Good tip! This is what it says on the site: 2.3GHz, 4.0GHz Turbo. And the actual processor is listed as the i5 quad core processor 8300H.

Not OP, but would an i7 face a lag spike?
On a properly configured system, it shouldn’t. A lot of games are demanding more than 4 cores these days, TS4 included.
They've been very helpful to me.
Thanks for the tip, I'll keep it in mind for future reference.
I went with the i7 like I said I would. The specs I chose were probably overkill but like I said, I wanted to be sure. When I loaded the game, it was incredibly fast and was automatically set to the 'ultra' settings. I've played around a bit and it's like playing a new game compared to my old decrepit laptop! Placing a lot took a matter of seconds where it used to take a couple of minutes. San Myshuno runs incredibly well (and I can actually see the whole city now!) and travelling happens in the blink of an eye.
So all in all, I definitely made the right choice. I'm so happy I can finally play again and it no longer feels like a chore. Thank you again to everybody who helped, I'm still by no means a tech genius but I feel like I learned from this experience! And to anybody in the UK, I would certainly recommend PC Specialist if you're in the market for a custom build.
