Hi all! o/
So, "Get to School" is something most of us want. Not just university, but a whole multi-life stage integrated learning experience. From toddlers to elders (and maybe the dead?). So, please put all your ideas here and I'll compile them in the second post to make it easier for our Gurus to see our ideas. I'll start by adding my ideas, and I would love to see everyone participating. Tell me anything, even if you think it's silly, even things you've shared in old posts.
Have creative ideas for dedéu. (Dedéu is how we say "super mega ultra cool" in portuguese or something on that way, haha, jsut trying to get in the mood by teaching something new to you guys!).
Comments
- For ages Baby to Children.
- Self-employed profession only (like in The Sims 3).
- You can send your babies, toddlers and kids for daycares controlled by other families.
- To open your Daycare you must call the Social Worker's Office where you will set up a meeting with a social worker. They will assess if your location is appropriate to receive the children and then give you a work permit.
- When you are going to receive your permit, the Social Worker will ask if you want to open a Daycare or an Orphanage.
- Toddlers will be dropped off at the Sim's house in the morning and children arrive on their own after their school day (which may or may not include afterschool activities they are enrolled in).
- At the end of the day, a report is given based on each child's mood; the best being "great." If the child had an "okay", "good", or "great" report, the parent will give the daycare provider a handsome tip.
- Responsibilities eventually include working on the weekends as well as taking care of a "problem child." Problem children will break appliances and electronics if left alone. Their homework takes longer for them to complete as well. Occasionally, a problem child will not do their homework, even if they are asked to. The player must initiate the "help with homework" interaction to get them to do it. The daycare provider will have an option to "talk about problems" with them, which keeps them out of trouble and keeps items intact. Eventually, problem children will be "cured" and will no longer break appliances or require special attention. Curing a problem child will earn the daycare provider a 1,000 simoleon tip.
- Sims who reach level 3 in this profession will have the "Tell Tale" self-interaction. This option is used to have the Sim tell a tale for the children, which increases their social and fun needs. When this is initiated, the toddlers and children will gather around and listen to the tale being told.
- If children are repeatedly in horrible moods when their parents pick them up, a daycare provider can lose their daycare license. Operations will be suspended until the Sim gets their license back; this entails taking a class at the Social Workers Office, which costs §1000.
- For ages Baby to Teen
- Voluntary work (no remuneration).
- To open your orphanage you must call the Social Worker's Office where you will set up a meeting with a social worker. They will assess if your location is appropriate to receive the children and then give you a work permit.
- When you are going to receive your permit, the Social Worker will ask if you want to open a Daycare or an Orphanage.
- The Social Worker will require at least two adults to give you the Orphanage permit (this way one adult can work to bring money, while the other take care of the orphans).
- It works like a family, except in this scenario you can not control the orphans directly (you can only influence them to do things).
- Children taken away from families by the Social Worker will no longer be deleted, you can find them living in orphanages or you can adopt them in your computer or smartphone.
- From time to time a couple will pay a visit to meet the orphans, the more well behaved, disciplined and studious the child is, the more likely the family will adopt any of them.
- For ages Toddler only.
- One of the stages on the Teacher active career.
- You can watch and control your Toddlers there.
- Toddlers will develop their Communication, Imagination, Movement, Potty and Thinking skills faster while in Pre-School.
- Areas covered in the Pre-School education should be around that:
- #Freethebabies
- Sims from ages teen and up can now help the Toddlers develop their Communication, Imagination, Movement, Potty and Thinking skills.
- There is a new skill for toddlers: Finger-Painting skill on paper. If a toddler develops this skill in its full capacity, they will learn the painting skill faster than other sims, as well as new paintings made only with fingers in the easel that will be slightly expensive when selling.
New objects could include:
- Baby swings
- Play mats
- Rocking horses
- Baby changing stations
- Sandpits
- See-saws
- Rocking chairs
etc.
- Children, Pre-teens and teenagers can attend if they have a minimum grade of C.
- Players have to have a Sim invite the Headmaster over for dinner, then schmooze, feed, and impress him in order to have their children or teens be accepted into private school.
- Kids and teens in private school will change into a uniform before getting on the school bus.
- For ages Baby to Teen.
- Now your adult sim can choose to undo the enrollment of your children in a school, and finally provide classes directly at home.
- You have a variety of teacher options from a parent or tutor, to a private teacher or online teacher.
- Every 2 days the Sim Government requires your kids to go to the nearby school to take a test to make sure they are being provided with education.
- For ages Kids only.
- One of the stages on the Teacher active career.
- ...
- Treehouses.
- Costume chest.
- For ages Preteen only
- One of the stages on the Teacher active career.
- Your Preteen can have a crush on Middle School, but be careful of the monitor... Graduated at the "Crumplebottom Juvenile Behavior School", the monitors will make your young love life more difficult.
- Excursions: Somedays, the teachers could take the students for a excursion out of the school, like, Magnolia Blossom Park, Desert Bloom, Von Haunt Estate, Bluffs Ruins, Public Pool, and more...
- Time for Lunch: At the lunch time on the school, the students can start a food fight, just clicking on the option of "Start a Food Fight" on someone. Cross your fingers for your Sim don't be caught, because if he were caught participating among the crowd, he can take 3 days of suspension.
- New feature: Status. Starting at the primordial days of school, status are a big thing in MiddleSchool/High School and will reflect your sims life even after the University. Status work as a skill that you will progress, the difference is that you can only achive them before you turn into a young adult. You can become a Love Guru, a It Girl, a Jock, a Emo, a Dreamer, a Bully, and others. If your It Girl status is higher than the other status, feared by some, copied by others... your sim will be considered the Queen Bee in high school/university. If your Musician status is higher than the other status, your sim will be considered the Rockstar in high school/university. And so on... After finishing your preteeen/teenage days, your sim will receive a special trait to represent their status for the rest of their lives. That trait will also define which musical preferences you sims have, as well as clothing style, etc... It Girl will randomize their musical preferences between country, pop and electronica. Dreamer have a wider range of options in this musical preference, while It Girls have a wider preference in clothing style, from street wear to high fashion.
- New life stage for The Sims 4
- Shorter than teens, taller than children..
- Stage of puberty to fit the demands of more gradual aging, which in this case means gradual maturity of the body. The voice would crack will crack a lot a change between the childish voice to the mature voice. Girls will develop their bodies such as breast growth, menstrual period (from now on every female sim will have unconfortable moodlets one day per week, some will act more angry/violent, some wil act sad and depressed).
- Now the sims will have acne, being more constant and in greater quantity during the preteen stage of life, and decreasing between the periods of teenage and young adult until they become rare in the adult / elderly phase (unless your sim has the unlucky trait).
- Tweens can be influenced by older teens.
- They get jealous over younger siblings, as well as being bossy.
- Slumber parties! (sneaking out, painting nails, binge watching shows with friends.. All these come with moodlets of course.)
- Crushes with mild dating interactions. Such as pecks, holding hands, hugs, double dates.. (Rollerblading, movie theatres, Ice skating).
- They will have strong moodlets when nearby their crushes, as well as feeling stronger sadness in their firsr romantic rejection.
- If you have Seasons, school dances will start in the Preteen life stage, all the way to the Teen life stage.
- They would pretty much have all interactions + more that we had in Teens from Sims 2.
- Teens are when your close to being Young Adult, have the body and height of an Young Adult, they are that moment on your early life that not everything seems so embarassing anymore, and many simmers feel the need to have the satage of puberty and embarassment that we all lived before High School.
- Toddlers on pre-school will have exclusive afterschool activities such as ballet for beginners, music for beginners and painting for beginners. They wouldn't do much, but would work like "Learn to sing the Nursery Rhime", etc...
- New afterschool activities such as Arts Club, Debate Group, School Newspaper, DIY/Crafts Club, Sports and Study Groups.
- Some will be exclusive depending on the level of dificulty, such as Cheerleading being only allowed for Preteens and up.
- There will be an "After School Reward Ceremony" for the best in the clubs.
- For ages Teen only.
- One of the stages on the Teacher active career.
- If your sim succeeds on any of the school subject they can earn scholarships. The can accumulate scholarships if they succeed in more than one of the school subjects. Depending on which of the subjects your sims is good at, they will receive more or less scholarships, some skills are more valuable if they were hard to get.
- - Woohoo Skill: Do your sim thinks he understands everything about romance and woohoo? You can earn extra money during class breaks by giving advice and therapies to your classmates. Depending on your skill level you can earn friendship points and extra money. If your sim is a noob thinking that they can give advice, know that they will get on your foot for a good period of time. Beware of the bullies.
- If your sims higher status in Middle School was Love Guru, the Woohoo skill and therapies will be easier to get.
- School Prom: For Teens Sims, three times in the High School, it will have the School Prom, where your Boy Sim can invite some Girl Sim to be his couple in the prom. If the couple were very popular in the school, there is a huge chance for them to be the King and the Queen in this night. But, if they weren't, there isn't problem, you can make friendships along the years, and certainly they will vote in you and in your pair for be the King and Queen. If you think it's too late to make friends, you can try to bribe the Principal, paying $50,00 for him. He can declassify you, or classify you for King and Queen... you just need being lucky! You also can vote in others couples using your cellphone or using the box of the votes.
- Cheerleaders/School Mascots: Who doesn't like to see cheerleaders training? Now, your Sim can enter for the team, and training a lot, they can become the top of the pyramid (Don't think it's easy to become the top, your Sims is going to need to train much, much, much to take this status). You can customize the Cheerleaders and School Mascots costumes.
- The final stages on the Teacher active career.
- Depending on which of the Status your sim acquired between Middle School and High School they will tend towards some majors. Dreamers will tend to Fine Arts, It Girls will tend to Fine Arts/Fashion, etc...
- Sororities, Fraternities and Secret Societies.
- Other stuff from Sims 2/3 university should come back as well.
- Your sim need to have a major to be able to become a teacher.
- Depending on which major your sim choose and graduated, your teahcer you give different classes from Simlish, Math, Chemistry, Physical Education, Art, History, Geography, Biology, Physics and Music classes.
- If the student went poorly on tests, the teacher could give him a second chance if they were good/well behaved students, giving them school projects/homework. But, if the sim was bad or a stubborn student, the teacher could call their parents in the school to talk about hteir bad behaviour. The parents could choose to punish their kid or not, like taking their phones/computers, etc...
- The career would start in Elementary School, and your sim would be able to choose to progress even further into being a University master.
- Here your sims can learn "Life Skills" like Parenting, Fire Prevention, Anger Management, Lifelong Happiness, Physiology and Couples Counseling.
- At the Vocational School your sims can find ther hobbies and learn many arts and crafts like pottery/ceramics, weave tapestry/fabrics, how to make stained glass windows/mosaic floors/glass blowing, woodworking/furniture design (your sims will learn an extra skill to be used/expand on woodworking, producing more refined furnitures in the woodworking table).
- Night school for the adult sim with a day job, online classes for the shop owner.
Fashion it after the work from home careers where the child has to meet certain goals each day, like gain a skill point in social skill or something.
I would like to have the option to keep children at home because a lot of my games aren't your typical suburban family game play where sending them to school makes sense. Right now I use MCCC and have them quit school, but it would be cool if they just incorporated it into the game.
- Active classrooms
- Object Chalkboard: Works like Spa Day yoga class where the desks will lock into it and you as the teacher can teach a lesson, have the students take a test or have a discussion with the class. Play as the student at the desk with options to follow along with the lesson play on
your phone doodle or shoot spitballs at other classmates.
- Science lab same as above but their will be a science table object where students will be instructed to do experiments some students may not follow along and make a random objects to prank the class such as a stink bomb.
- PE includes past activities like basketball adds in a weight bench and track field (which will also be a object with the football field inside)
- After school activities not rabbit holes football practice, cheerleading practice and practice for a school play
School set up options for each unique school lot created
- Option to pick which students go to the school if you don't pick the required number townies fill the remaining spot
- School uniforms or daily wear decided by player
- School mascot / team colors for football and cheerleading
Elementary school for child age they do homework go on frequent feild trips but no signed permission slip go on. After school activities like karate, dance, or pick plants and bugs for school assignments.
Middle School/Jr High for Preteens a little more homework not as much feild trips then the children but they do get school dances like Halloween dance, Winter fest. Dance, Spring Fling Dance, After school activities like baseball, basketball, dance, cheerleading or drill teams.
Highschool for teens study for college, something like the SAT or the ACT get scholarships like an Athletic scholarship music scholarship, so on. Homework should be look up something like an essay or write a term paper have years like freshman year sophomore year etc...
For objects, a running track would be neat especially if sims could race each other. And lockers for sims to interact with would be awesome: store objects from their inventory, decorate with pictures, leave secret notes, or get shoved into by the school bully!
And some NPC roles like School Bully, Cheerleader, Mascot, Principle, Librarian, Hall Monitor, Prefect, etc. for your sims to meet (or try to avoid) could make going to school A LOT more interesting!!
Also I love the ideas of orphanages and dances/events!!
That I do miss as well I was thinking going off topic here in Uni hopefully they have it where we follow Sims to a classroom taking notes, sleeping, asking questions, passing notes, and etc.
-- An "active" teacher career, you can be an elementary or high school teacher, or a college professor. I would really like to see schools that we can build and view in the neighborhood, but if they have to be hidden lots like the hospitals and science warehouses I understand. Grudgingly. I expect to be able to see neighborhood kids etc though, don't waste my time spawning ugly badly dressed townie kids to whom I am not attached.
-- An added option for "Active" elementary and high schools (just like active careers, where you can follow one child or teen to class at a time).
The current school rabbitholes could be considered default public schools; the "active" schools could be considered private schools and your sim parents would have to enroll their children and teens in a private/active school before they could attend.
I have no preference one way or another as to whether the "impress the headmaster" scenario/event should return with it.
-- A new option for Home School, where kids do extra homework daily, assorted group projects, and Study Groups could be a thing.
-- Night school for the adult sim with a day job, online classes for the shop owner.
-- The addition of universities/colleges for the young adult through elder ages. Adults and elders can go back to school for degrees to jump several promotions in their chosen field. Sims can learn new skills faster in a skill-dedicated classroom.
-- It's silly, but if they could add the option to turn on/off a summer vacation option, that would be a nice touch.
-- Fun skill-based flavor classes like woodshop!
* I'd like to see new stuff added to the woodworking table, entire furniture sets, and multiple wood color/stain/paint options!
* Classes that teach sims how to cook, and cooking tests that you would have to complete by making a certain quality of food.
* Perhaps adding new skills like sewing/knitting new clothes, that you can only learn through an active or online course?
-- Campus-held skill competitions would be fun, with appropriate new prizes for the winners.
-- Perhaps cars could make a comeback via an autobody class that teaches you how to rebuild or fix cars. School buses could return to pick up kids and teens, cars and garage door become available to buy in build/buy mode, and Mechanic could be another new active career.
***
-- Certain events would be fun to see, like elementary, high school, or college graduations, prom or homecoming parties, etc. It might be fun to follow sim parents to the school play, or a bake-off/fundraiser.
-- Can we get scout cookies set up for sale in front of various venues?
@JulinhoXD2001 I'll be including some of your ideas in this thread.
Toddlers - interactive daycare including new daycare career
Children - more after school activities such as ballet / sports / music.
Teens - similar to TS3 generations add prom and graduation back along with after school activities listed above.
Both also could have the option of private school that cost simoleans every week.
Young adult - college/ university not only big universities but also community colleges
I also love some of the ideas above such as home schooling and night school
I’m sure this has been mentioned to but maybe as a little bonus a retirement home for elders there just so forgettable
I love all of these ideas. It would be so perfect for my gameplay style.
