Here's my report, @GalacticGal, my nominated Sim went to the awards early and sat down - the first award was to someone else - she won the second award for a book! She has only written 1 children's' book. She took her fiancée - also an actor - he won an award! I was not expecting that. So now I have 2 - a silver and a gold. In all there were 5 awards given out and a lot of new stars I hadn't met attended. Thanks for your help. The awards were really fun.

Cool! The closest I've gotten was having my Sim's younger sister win an award. She wasn't in my active household, so I'm told there won't be any award in her family Inventory, which is too bad. She's a played Sim. Up until two game sessions ago, I was playing her household. Figures, doesn't' it?
I go every week, nominated or not - but I do make sure if my sim is nominated that she/he DEFINITELY goes, like take a vacation day from work kind of thing. It's lots of fun - and some of the reasons for the awards are hilarious!

I've started to do that, also, under the advice of other players. I keep hoping Erik's 'ship' will come in. (Probably during a dock strike )
My sim won a Starlight Accolade but the award show stopped showing on the calendar after that. Instead it shows "Skills day" and I've never seen a notification since the first time she won. I thought maybe sims can only win one and that's it, but from the looks of it, others have more than one.
Maybe I'll delete the lot and try remaking it with the specified lot traits. Love the photos in the thread btw
Skills Day is a pop-up holiday - maybe check mods/repair game before you start rebuilding? And any holiday will override the photo of the Accolades, as it's an event. Is it not listed when you click on Sunday in the game?
the holidays will always overwrite events on the same day, but if you click the day in the calender, everything happening that day will be listed on the left side, holiday on top, event(s) below it
@GalacticGal - I decided to go to the starlight awards even though I had no nominations. The first time I got nothing. The next time one Sim (I took 2) got an award. This time the award went to the household inventory.

Thank you, I do make a point of sending him. He's been to several. The closest I got was once I had him move out of his sister's lot and was using him as the Active Sim, she shows up at the Accolades and receives one, herself. LOL
Putting that all aside, I've had to roll back my saves to basically restart my Global Superstar. He's a Rising Star at this point, but my week is so broken up I hardly have time to play. There's so many little 'goodies' packed into the RTF_Professional Singing Career, I'm really trying to test it and see where it takes my Sim. But, you can be sure, that if he manages even so much as a nomination, I'll be singing it from the rooftops!
it's usually not about career for the awards, but skill and 'making things' (which, of course, comes with skill). writing books, painting paintings, making videos, acting. there are awards for other things, including 'having really tight pants')
I kinda wish we could engrave awards btw, so we remember what they got them for and who got them (if multiple celebs share a house) But yes, you should be able to put them in the sim's household inventory, then if they move, I think they'll take them automatically. I hope so anyway?

The mod I tried was an epic fail. I was only allowed to place one trophy in the crate. But, the cheat worked and I was allowed to purchase the other two trophies. Good enough for me, although we shouldn't have to spend our Sims' money to replace that which they earned. EA, did you see what I just wrote? Please fix this.

And not only having tight pants, but being able to pull off that look! LOL That's what the award is for. Again too funny.

Remove Skills day, the Accolades are there. It's basically two events on the same day. You could also look to screen left on the calendar, where it gives details on the what and where of the event. I thought the Accolades had disappeared, too. Then I looked more closely at the when and where and saw they were there, too. Anymore, I just delete the Skills day event.
Yes, it's the funniest darn thing. Like i said, it's not just for wearing the tight pants, but for being able to pull off the look. I don't have the exact wording. Gee, I think if I showed up somewhere in such tight pants (although I am on the skinny side) they'd simply tell me to, "Grandma, dress your age!" LOL
@simstr0ng here's a screenshot of it, right before the award ceremony for the day ended (since you have to read bottom to top in announcements). i'd posted this screeshot a few weeks back in another thread
i believe it's really just one of several chances for sims without specific skills to be able to win accolades (or it could be charisma related. i dunno. the two winners with that specific text that i remember were holly alto and cecilia blanck there on two days very far apart. and cecelia blanck is basically diana ross in my game, a townie in the musician side of the entertainer career with max singing and many instrument skills)

Yea, that's so annoying. The task is timed also so they keep stopping and going somewhere else. I have to keep re-assigning the task.
Winning awards is so sparse, rarely happens. I've had sims go their entire career without a single one... even after receiving notifications that they were going to get one.

Well, that's totally messed up. If your Sim is notified they earned the award. Are you sure it doesn't say they're nominated? I have to ask, as so far my Sim hasn't even received a notification. I've had to restart him on his path (we'll not get into the sordid details of the mishaps with my game), but he's closing in on his second star at the moment. In an earlier save he was a Global Superstar. He's now a teen again.
Your remark about some of your Sims going through their entire career without a single award reminds me of Bob Hope. He hosted the Oscars many a time and never, never, ever received one himself. (If you're not familiar with the man, I invite you to look him up. I admired him so much when in Middle School, I wrote about him in an assignment for who we thought was the greatest person.)
