I noticed I can't create ponds (or at least I haven't found how to) I want to be able to fish on my home lot and there doesn't seem any fishing areas nearby...can I make a pond on my home lot? (I don't wanna go to another lot to fish).
@KaeChan2089 Also, if you want to make your own pond, you can build a pool, disguise the edges to look realistic and use one of the fishing signs found by using that same cheat. Put it next to the edge of your pool (pond) and it'll spawn fish in it. Just make sure you don't place the sign backwards or you'll get fish jumping out of your yard. lol

I'm tempted to try placing it backward just to get fish all over the place.
What kinds of fish spawn? It sounds like there are multiple signs available - do different signs correspond to different fish types? (That is, even though the signs all look alike, if it's the sign that spawns the fish, do they also have some hidden attribute that determines which fish spawn?) Or do all fish spawn?
@invisiblgirl LOL Yeah, I've done that by accident is how I know you need to put the sign the right way around. No, not all fish spawn with one sign. Different signs spawn different fish; common, not common, and rare. It's hard to tell from the debug name/code sometimes which is which. If you can't tell from the name, I'd just try one and watch the fish jump. You should be able to figure it out pretty easily that way.
EDIT: BTW the signs have different size 'footprints' too. Some are smaller I'm guessing because they were made for the narrower fishing spots, like the river/creek in Oasis Springs Park perhaps.

Useful to know - my Sims live in the lot right next to the Newcrest pond, so they barely have to walk out their door, but I've wished I could get salmon without travelling to another neighbourhood.

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong but if you are trying for collectibles, not all fish will be in the same place and you will have to travel eventually. If it's just for the sake of fishing...then you are good to do it at home. I don't know what type of fish the hidden fish pond will give you.

Thank you so much.
