I would love to see teacher (actually a whole Uni expansion would be great). Running a hotel/inn like a business would be fun. I have really been enjoying the "Barista" career in Sims Mobile. That would be fun to see in TS4. An active outdoor ranger/guide career would be fun too.

It would kind of fall under self employment, I would Like to see Magic/Supernatural Hunting,
from Ghosts to Vampires, Werewolves, Sorcerers, all of them.
I mean it's no different from Being a Scientist and Detective careers, it's actually both of those combined.
Keeping Supernatural Prisoners, Questioning them mercilessly and Experimenting on them.
the only thing I don't want to see is the game choosing random supernaturals from played Households as prisoners.
We could have things like Archery, Net Launchers, Phantom Vacuum, Photon Cannons.
and before I get a bunch of unnecessary annoying warnings that say "The Devs will never allow weapons it goes against the ratings!"
Bruh, these weapons I've listed We've had in the Sims 3, Freeplay and Sims 4 already.
these are just ways of capturing, stunning, and or knocking out sims.

I'm on board with the Farming Pack, A world with wide open land, Maybe French, Italian landscape. I do want to plow, design and grow the fields myself. I think there's something sentimental about sowing the first seeds that my sims should do, instead of having a pre made/pre grown farm. I have a beautiful design for the Orchards, Vineyards, the Wheat/Corn Maze, the Winery, and Brewery. I already have a Few Stables set up for Cows, Pigs, and Goats. My big Chateau looking over looking the farm.

Love these 2 ideas!! Especially the French, Italian landscape! Sounds gorgeous! Maybe add the grape drink (can't say "wine") thing back in again--more detail this time though.

Yeah It would be gorgeous. And meh, they can call it what they want, it's all the same.

Tour guide, Adventurer or Archaeologist (to go with Jungle Adventurer), Preschool or kindergarten teacher, Office Drone, University professor, University student (lots of possibilities in Chemistry and Physics here, along with skill building/competitions in Computer Science/Programming), on-campus new clubs, new club activities (seriously, why no karaoke club? Why no fame club? Why no explorers or campers clubs?) Psychologist/Counselor, Psychiatrist, Social Worker. Landlord could also be an active career that requires repair skills, and perhaps charisma.

If they reintroduce cars to the series, Race Car Driver would be a fun active career. Masked Vigilante Hero (with vehicle such as motorcycle) would also be a fun active career.
I have been playing The Sims since 2001, when Livin Large came out. My avatar deliberately looks like Chris Roomies from TS1.

I would settle for just having places to actually go to. That is one of the tings I miss from Sims 3.

I don't particularly have a certain one, I just want more...

Am I the only one who wishes all the careers were active? That would actually be really awesome. Just me? Okay...

Hair Dresser or Make up artist.

Party Planner where you can choose the location, build the venue and get vendors all while staying in budget.

Mayor or President so we could make rules for the town or world (I know we have position career in City Living but this could be better.)

Farming so we can have farmer's markets.

If they add cars, an active mechanic career would be awesome. Fixing up cars could also be a hobby

I would like there to be an active gaming career modeled after EA itself.

There was something of the sort in Sims 2 from memory. It was in a gamepack for Stories. Was quite good. It was only a game tester thing. In Sims 4 you can program and make your own game, mod, plugin, and all that cool stuff. :D However, it doesn't show you how you develop it, and a career close to the gaming career is the 'Tech Guru' career. Though, it would be nice to hang with others who do same kind of stuff in a large highrise office building, and develop stuff on computer, LAN parties, creating VR games would be pretty cool.

    I like that.
    Until next time!

    Take care all!

It feels like baking/cooking is one of the most underused careers, it seems I've barely accomplished anything because it's mostly centered around what new 'appliance' you can unlock. Maybe it's just me wanting to see less 'reward! reward!' and have more experiences for my sim. I'd really like to see more ways of running a bakery, or even a little Mom 'n Pop/Takeout restaurant for those less extravagant sims. And personally, I'm not touching Dine Out with a ten foot pole.

Well, since everyone has said what I was pretty much thinking, Architect and Dance FTW, I'm kind of surprised there's no general Military career (perfect opportunity to rule SimNation... I'm kidding.... or am I?), and a Air Force career. WAY too much to ask but the thought of them flying a plane... eh, they'd probably crash it on the first run, but still, it'd be awesome. I liked that in 3 when your sim reached a certain level, they could salute other sims. Adding to that, and similar to 2 when you come home in a helicopter, it's now a police escort. Not sure if that would get old though. This, and chance cards. I want my sims to feel like a failure without mods. Especially on Mondays.

I think it would be cool to have “slacker” careers back like grocery store employees or new regular day jobs like a bank teller. Military as an active career would be fun! But definitely an active education career field for primary and secondary school teachers as well as another track as a professor for sims with high level skills in certain subjects where they could teach those skills to other sims in a classroom setting. Ex. A sim with high level writing skill could become a professor at a university and other sims could sign up for a degree program or just take 1 or 2 classes online to improve that skill a little.

I want teachers, as many other simmers do. I also wish that some of the standard careers (like Tech Guru, Painter, Entertainer, Mixologist, ect.) were active, or had the option to be. The game would definitely benefit from more options for players.

As others have mentioned, an active day care career for adults would be neat, and also quite easy to set up: You're in a house with a bunch of babies, toddlers, and/or children, and your tasks include working on their skills and character values, helping them with homework and so on, while also keeping everyone fed and entertained. Sadly, I don't think we'll ever get this because the best opportunity to release it (Parenthood) has already passed.

On top of that, I've always wanted at least one job that focuses on the Handiness skill, and I can see that working well as an active career, too: As a mechanic, you spend most of your time at the office doing the usual active career stuff as well as crafting wooden furniture and upgrading appliances that your company sells, but similar to a doctor, you also make house calls and repair or upgrade objects as requested.

I can imagine a couple of magic jobs coming with Witches, but I won't get into that now because I'm afraid I'll get carried away too quickly...

    GrumpyGlowfish,

It seems like a lot of other people have suggested a "Go to School" type pack with being a teacher as an active career. Maybe they could add a preschool in this pack and include preschool teachers? If they did it right, it would go with the pack, but could still have a "daycare" type vibe.

    STSmiler,

I love the idea of having online classes. I could see this as a skill-building option for all skills. Maybe it would level up slightly faster than books, but it would cost $$$ to enroll in the class.
