Object outside of lot

Okay, I looked for a solution for this before posting, but it's just not working for me.

I have a violin that's been placed outside the Von Haunt Estate lot. I just can't get rid of it, I've tried setting the object as a head, but all that does is duplicate the object and the original remains just outside the lot unable to be moved or destroyed. This item belongs in the estate, but a random sim picked it up started playing and then decided to go home without putting it down until they left the lot. Now I have a violin just outside the lot and I can't get rid of it no matter what I try to do.

I've been trying to get sims to pick it back up and return it into the lot but thus far no one is doing that.

Is there any fix for this?

If you have MCCC mod, you can use the option to shift click on the object and “ destroy” it.
