Any way to keep non-played sims away from played worlds?

Situational example: I've created a family (ma, pa and toddler) and played them through as a household until the little one gets to be a teenager, whereupon he decides he wants to go out into the wide world and leave the nest.

I know I can split the household (using Manage Households from main screen) - however, I'd also like to be able to -not- have mom and pops wander around trhe worlds in which the teenager plays.

Is there any known way to make this happen? i.e. once the teen moves into his own residence, the parents are still in their old house but they don't populate like other NPCs...

Hope it makes sense; TIA

I'm totally unaware of a way to make this happen. In fact, I find it endearing when the relatives (mostly Mom and Dad) of my Sim are seen or just manage to show up at events my Sim is attending. It's especially nice when they go to his concerts without him having to bring them with him or calling a family get-together (they've formed a club). I had teens, each from a different household, who were sweet on each other and anytime they went 'out', they'd run into at least one of the four parents involved. Since this is in my Ancestral save, I thought it cute. 18th century morals in place as they were.

    Sorry, I couldn't help.

Not at all, I appreciate your response.

Ordinarily, it wouldn't be an issue but this particular scenario means that if they were to be seen in public, a whole new thread could evolve and tangle up the (fairly) intricate plot web that I'm currently spinning :)

For now, suffice it to say that the parents are spies who have 'come in from the cold' and must keep themselves out of focus - all the time without telling their son what's going on but still be there for him.

    ... Yeah I know...

If you're having the parents be spies, you could simply dress them in spy clothes like long black coats and fedoras with sunglasses so that when they do show up near or around their son, you can still explain it away.

Using MCCC, there's probably a way to flag them so the game won't use them as sims that are selected automatically to visit anywhere. I've never desired to do this, so couldn't say exactly what flags would do it...but there has to be one. The mod thought of everything else a person could want.

I'd check the MCCC documentation regarding sim flags if I were in your shoes.

Another suggestion, since I don't know of a mod that does this (but MCCC may, like above, I haven't looked into it). MCCC has a command on the sim menu (click on the sim in question) where you can make them leave the lot immediately. If you see Mom and Pop, click on them and make them leave really fast. Might be helpful?

Many thanks for all your suggestions; I really appreciate them.

I'm going to go with a combination of hidden trait(s) use and the excellent SCAM autonomy module that's contained within MCCC - I think I may be able to fudge something through with that for what I need.

    Thanks again
