Spoiled food autonomy question

It might just be me but it seems like sims are doing this one way too frequently. Is there a reason for this one? I am considering disabling it's autonomy specifically but I'm not sure what autonomy in the list it is and if there are any consequences to the task not being performed or having the autonomy action for it disabled.
For example with the dishwasher if load dishwasher autonomy is disabled you aren't even able to have sims manually load items to the dishwasher. Of course you can get around that issue by disabling autonomy on the dishes themselves so they are highly unlikely to autonomously load the dishwasher.
