What house would be better?

Shelly has been given a rare chance to see where she lives if she ended up with a certain guy. I will not mention the guys here, just a potential house for her

The first one is an ordinary three bed house

The houses come with three bedrooms, a living room, dining room, kitchen, upstairs bathroom, second toilet down stairs and a front and back garden. It sounds like a good standard family home and she could be happy here

One of the other guys might earn more money so she could end up here

Just look at that pool. Just think of those awesome parties she could have there!

And that view!

This could be great for her image!

She could live amongst the uber rich, the yuppies, the celebrities, you could be well known. Of course some neighbours might look down on people, and there are affairs all over the place but that is just part of the fun.

What sounds better? Obviously there is a story to go with this as well but looking at the houses which one seems more comfortable or might bring out better neighbours?

You didn't give us much information about Shelly's personality. Perhaps she care more about love and true happiness rather than image. Maybe she is a swinger and would be happier living with those like her. What is her personality to help us pick a house and therefore the man that will provide the house.
I personally think from your stories about Shelly in the past, don't see her as the swinger type. But, maybe you've changed her for this story. Also, a regular couple can aspire to a nicer more luxurious house and don't need to be like their uppity swinging neighbors.

Based only on the house I like the modern one with the good view. Neighbors don't matter because my sims socialize with their friends not their neighbors.

The modern house, only because I've played that lot before and really enjoyed it. The house is a bit weird, with a lot of unused space on ground level, but it's fairly easy to customize. I filled in the 3rd floor to add more rooms, moved the stairs, shrank the pool (more to make it more affordable), built out the first floor 'basement', etc. And it does have a really nice view. The only issue is that the lot is kind of small, but the first house you showed seems to have a smaller yard.

If I could choose, I would take the modern mansion without hesitating! :)

It all depends on the guy, who is she really in love with and who loves her the most. It is not where you live that makes a husband or romance, it is who you are with. Would she rather live in a fancy house and not be loved, or live in the small house and be excitedly happy and in love. So she should choose the house where love will bloom forever. I cannot choose for her, she will have to make that decision. Where will she wake up every morning knowing that no matter what she will be loved and happy.

I've played in that second house, and I really like it, but as is, it isn't very good for a family. When my sims that lived there had children, I made bedrooms for them in the lower level, because the loft was my favorite part of the house, and I didn't want to destroy it. But there was no way to put windows in those bedrooms, which I didn't like. So as much as I like the house, I have only used it that once. I much prefer houses with more bedrooms and less wasted space. Nowadays, when I play in Bridgeport, I place houses for my families.
