He Just Proposed, But Now He's Got the Slashed Circle In His Thoughts!

Please help me to interpret what my Sim could possibly be thinking. He just proposed to his sweetheart/girlfriend and as soon as they sat back down at the table to chat, he's looking at her, but in his thought bubble is that circle with the slash over her image. He's thinking of her, obviously, but has he just changed his mind, or is he having a case of cold feet?

I don't know how to set up a poll for this or I would.

Usually it just means the conversation has gone awkward. But of course you're free to be more imaginative with the interpretation.

Well, they've had their ups and downs, mostly due to his fame and fans that constantly fawn all over him. But, I see your point. Could just be awkward. He is still wearing his celebrity disguise, not that it did much good. Thanks for the response. I have much to ponder. Originally, he took her to the restaurant to ask her to just be friends, which he did, but it didn't take long before that pink bar filled right back up to the top for them. They do make a cute couple, I'm just unsure this should go forward. LOL

If they already broke up once and the bars filled right back up, I would guess it's just cold feet and he'll get over it and everything will be fine.

It's funny you mention this. I have a sim know who filled up the green bar over time with an alien mostly due to their own actions, I did the initial introduction and a "how was your day?" conversation starter when they'd meet again. One day she asked to come over to his house, they started getting flirty, and she zapped his memory. Cold feet or friend zoned? They kept talking and by the time she left they had already gone back up to friend. Also turned out she is his boss ... so that may have had something to do with it. lol

She really can't stand it when he is friendly to his fans. Just now, she threw a hissy-fit because he dared sign an autograph. The fan, in all seriousness was out-of-bounds by giving him a flirty look and more or less coming on to him. I do wish the devs had given our Sims a few more interactions to gently rebuff someone whose ardor is misplaced, you know? He gets into trouble just because he's a nice guy. I'm thinking your first response 'Run, run far far away!' is something he should giver serious thought to.

I don't go by that slash circle it's just a thought. Now if they get a negative moodlet then I go by that.

Either will do. I'm betting it's regret. He's a full blown superstar and very friendly. He loves his fans and is only too grateful to them for his rise to fame. He has not forgotten who put him where he is. So, they are often greeting him with sometimes more than just cheers and confetti. It's nothing for a Sim of the female persuasion to give him a rose, for instance. Sometimes, they shout out "Erik, I love you!" Leila usually throws a fit and/or has a total meltdown. How can he deal with that for a lifetime? One doesn't go into a marriage with the thought if it doesn't work out they'll just get a divorce! Or at least that's not the way to approach it!

My sims get that thought bubble sometimes, even when they are good friends/lovers and have been having a pleasant conversation. It’s weird.

ETA: oh, in your case it may be the no touching quirk. The GF celebrity interactions don’t seem to discriminate between friends and family and mere acquaintances. For example, they will react in disgust to friends and family. So, I wouldn’t be surprised if the no touching quirk also is triggered by friends and family.
